Well, RCA/19 actually pushed her into makig numbers and being successful. Atlantic just lets her do whatever she wants and whenever she wants, even when it's not the most commercial choice, which is hurting her numbers right now
BrokenMachine Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Also, she has done nothing to stay relevant in the music industry, she's more of a celebrity right now, but her fanbase is at its lowest point right now. In the streaming era a 6 year break between albums is extremely harmful, so this is what you get. Once MOL underperformed they could have pulled a B plan really quick for her to keep relevance out of the US, but her priorities were in building her show
Bloodflowers. Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Her song with David Guetta is really good, hope she payola's that song on each European radio for that hit
Ivan_brit Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 See…. When you refuse to do live performances or film music videos Or at least decide what song should be send to radio The album is great the era is a complete mess
thatsmydemi Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 You guys are so weird... Kelly Clarkson is the opposite of a streaming artist, and her playlisting doesn't help at all. She was never going to chart on any streaming chart and anyone with common sense could've guessed it from the moment the album was announced.
The Second Coming Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 And yet who's the weirdo that decided to plaster her face on the web banner
RealityBites Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 She’s reached a career peak of #13 on Apple US for the album (currently #14) and on Spotify the album received 1,603,784 streams and the album to date has 25,648,964. That’s not bad for someone who has never been a streaming artist. Go look at Kesha’s new album for streams and Gwens’s new song and then come back here and try to compare. Ageism is a thing and that’s why those artists are not play listed on popular charts.
Polgg48 Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 math never correlate to art, simply as that op: red flag collector on first single at least make sense than worst song in album being the lead, missed opportunity on magic, once again atlantic has absolutely no idea how to promo album at all #freekelly

To be fair, her career always depended on radio hits, and the Hot AC format that she and P!nk used to perform really well on died out right around the Atlantic transition. Also, it's 20 years later and her last hit was in 2012, this feels pretty normal.
UnusualBoy Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 I mean the singles made no noise, this is not shocking.
