Dear Reader Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Becomes the first female artist in Spotify history to do it. 5 2
dyktatuob Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 from "she only has pure sales records" in 2018-2019 to being the biggest female act in streaming era 1
OnlyManInTheWorld Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Remember when she was the „streaming poison” and „nobody cares about her besides swifties” in 2017-2019
Velvet Night Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 She is coming to surpass the male artists soon, watch out Drake and Bad Bunny!
Holiest Dreams Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 She’s also now the third most streamed artist on Spotify amongst all credits (which I agree isn’t a thing but I digress) I’m not 100% sure if this is true or not but I read she was the third most-streamed artist when she pulled her discography back in 2014. I believe she was barely top 30 during Lover and probably still not top 20 before folklore (?) plus she only had 8B something at the start of 2020. So if that is true then she’s right back where she left off despite all those years of being gone and then flopping And she isn’t even done growing. Insane numbers 2
Popular Post Chartman Posted June 24, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 24, 2023 2017-2020 “She will never win another AOTY“-> wins AOTY at the 2021 Grammys “Her days of debuting with 1 Million units in USA are over“ -> Debuts with almost 1.6 Million units in 2022. „She will never have another real smash hit, her singles leave the #1 spot after 1-2 weeks than they fall off the chart quickly“ -> Global smash hit Anti Hero stays at #1 for 8 weeks and shows great longevity inside the top10. „The Reputation tour wasn‘t as big as predicted, she won‘t compete with Ed Sheeran he is on another level touring wise“ -> Goes on the biggest tour ever even adjusted to inflation she will break U2‘s record of 960 Million $, first tour to gross 1 billion $. “She is failing on streaming, not on the level of her peers“ -> Proceeds to become the biggest female artist on streaming. Biggest opening week for an album on Spotify. #1 most streamed artist on Spotify in 2023. Taylor seems to always win big in the end. 19 2
Badgalbriel Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 This is crazy considering she was absent from Spotify during her peak era and only came back with her 2 flop eras, Reputation and Lover. Folklore really did give her career a whole new meaning.
Jude Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 That's insane. She's going to be the most streamed artist on Spotify in no time as Drake and Bad Bunny have significantly slowed down.

I never understood this take of the reputation tour not being as big as expected? I remember reading articles that it was exceeding expectations. Are people really revisiting history

The massive album sales for Midnights, Anti-Hero becoming a smash hit, the tour giving her whole discography such a massive boost, Cruel Summer also becomng a smash hit... the whole thing is still hard to believe. What an absolute joy it is to stan her.
Gerry I Shot Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 With Speak Now TV around the corner, I’m sure she’ll be getting a boost. This is insane.

In fact, it only proves that it exceeded expectations so I’m not sure where this revisionist take is coming from (that the rep tour did not do well as expected)

They already deemed it as a failure from the start, before the actual tour grosses came out and when they did, thats when the perception on its performance changed. I'm not sure why you're so hooked on saying "revisionist history" because it really isn't, like its not that deep? 1
Michael196 Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 and July will easily add 3B making it the biggest month for any artist
