JayG Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 So ******* tragic. So so so tragic. Everything good going away. :( Its never gonna be the same, who remembers this ICONIC moment Sony WON an entire console generation and dragged that other flop MS through the mud so efforlessly lmfaooooo. Truly MPG energy.
Doogle Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 So sad. Grew up through teen years with these every year to look forward to. They had to bring it or they’d be relentlessly dragged and compared to whichever company was killing it. 2013 was so iconic The current way is fine but they have no competition when they all do them separately so the directs/showcases suffer
ATRL Moderator Bloo Posted June 22, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted June 22, 2023 E3 was fun. But it makes sense that it is no longer seen as attractive in an era of short form content.

Truly MPG energy. This whole video seems so strange unless you know the context of the Xbox One’s bizarre restrictions that got removed later on. Lol, what a time. E3 was fun when it was the gaming event of the year.

E3 was legendary, period. Streaming and the internet has ruined everything for real. Like, staying up all night for The Last of Us and console reveals?! Memories man. I would pay good money to go to E3 back then. I wish I did. Everything good is dying/getting destroyed and its really sad to see... for real. :( Edited June 22, 2023 by JayG
poki Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 E3 in the 90's was wild. Insomniac CEO himself was there to give away Spyro merch apparently.
Komet Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 I much prefer E3 over these individual presentations we have nowadays, none of them feel as big as that was. Too bad.
thatsmydemi Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 (edited) To be honest, June still feels like an E3-sort of month with companies doing directs left and right. Maybe because I never really followed it until the very last shows. Edited June 23, 2023 by thatsmydemi
Fevesy Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 I miss E3. Nintendo Directs/State of Play/whatever Microsoft does not have the same effect. I get why it's happened but still
FailSafe Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 This is inevitable but I'm still so sad. E3's my childhood and I've always wanted to attend the event.. wow. End of an era, I just know the child me would be crying to hear this news. Damn.
D/X Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Getting kinda early on vacations to watch E3... Of course companies find out they could save tons of money by just making social media announcements, but it's not the same hype. Nintendo Directs are boring garbage.
