This ^ psychedelic & classic rock album from her should be the direction for her to go if she's wanting to do rock. Holy F**k felt juvenile and a lot of the songs weren't great lyrically.

It's influenced by punk, grunge, metal and hard rock. I understand it's not the most accessible rock for pop stans. They would do better among stans with something more glam and "sophisticated" but that's not the rock they are into right now. This song is extremely different than anything Demi has ever done, it does fit in with the fetus rock eras and some of HF, but it also feels distinct and new. This is a whole new era for Demi creatively.

Im the type though who still appreciates someone's creativity even if its not my personal vibe. im sure Demi will return to pop/R&B eventually bc shes so versatile as a person and artist, but I personally feel rock (and ballads) suit her voice best

Demi's best chance at success is pop, r&b, balladry, or EDM. Those are the genres most streamed and successful, even if Demi doesnt have a hit in those areas itd get decent enough support compared to the HF era. Spotify streams of DWTD vs HF singles prove that, both eras are 1 year apart and even singles like WOPS did well. Album tracks will do same bc its hardcore fans supporting Demi. Rock is very niche and even the most successful rock artists hve an audience who simply wont stream Demi no matter how committed Demi is to rock.

That's because Skin of My Teeth was terrible lyrically, it was her worst lead single. I have better feelings about her lead single after she dropped SWINE though. I'm excited for her Alice Cooper collab, if that's what they were even in the studio for. I want her to collab with The Pretty Reckless, Metallica, Green Day, and maybe even Memphis May Fire (Even though I known no one wants that lol)
