It came out 13 months ago, look at the current sales climate. 2x Platinum is more than 99% of albums released nowadays. I think Midnights, SOS, Sour and Morgan Wallen are the only ones to get a multi-Platinum faster in the last several years.

 

Plus, this certification is old. They've been waiting to buy all the certifications at the same time, because As It Was was updated from 2x and they also skipped Watermelon Sugar 6x, it'll be 3x relatively soon.

 

EDIT: I just KNOW the holdback was Boyfriends. Harry's fans were getting annoyed with how long it was taking Columbia to buy the certs, now I get why. They needed to wait for the runt to catch up
