I literally had a $16 charge from Amazon Prime a few days ago that I’ve been wondering about.

I was gonna ask the same thing. Unless they mean " peoples inability to remember they have a free trial and get charge afterwards" as "inducing signups". They do make it kinda hard to cancel.....if you don't pay attention.

I accidentally signed up for the free trial and didn’t even know until I started getting billed. What they do is give you an option when purchasing things to click pay with free trial or pay without the trial. I must have accidentally clicked the pay with free trial included. It was easy to cancel after I realized what probably happened. So not sure why that’s an issue.

If you don't have prime but saw a prime charge what's there to wonder about? You waited a few days/until you saw this thread to get on it?

This makes sense. I've never tried to cancel my prime but I'm sure it's not going to be difficult to do. This is a complete non event smh. Even if you paid for the trial- certainly you know that they don't last forever? People should know this. What they should focus on is the gym memberships along with cable/ISP and their million and fifteen fees

I had prime at one point and my subscription must’ve been renewed without consent which is specifically mentioned if you click the link and read the full article about this lawsuit.

And yeah I waited.  It’s $16, I didn’t jump up and dial Amazon customer service but now that I saw this, perhaps I will.

let me know if you have any additional questions, sweetie.

I don't understand the renewing without consent part. Isn't it sign up = until you cancel?

Lmao you probably should get on it 😅 lmk how difficult the cancellation process was

"requires five clicks on desktop and six on mobile for consumers to cancel from Amazon.com."

This is just ridiculous :rip:
