I suppose the length is the actual timeframe of the song when it appears on movie? They just didn’t bother to expand it for the album :gaycat3:

TikTok RUINED music

we really need to stop letting it have the influence and dictation that it has on the music industry

well... Ava's song should be even shorter

Let's see how it is. Really hope the A. G. Barbie Girl snippet sees the light of day somewhere somehow.

It's Charli so it'll be a bop but under 2mins is so crazy. If y'all are on tiktok it's your fault.

the serve after serve.

wouldn’t mind waiting for the album but yeah we will be bopping either way.

i think it’s very difficult to top the barbie girl AG COOK snippet but let’s see… cause THAT would have been iconic

Maybe the music industry shouldn't let an app designed for kids dictate it so much? Charli could've pushed back and made the song fuller she's been on this lazy ass streak for awhile now.

An original song would be best. Besides the AG cook cover remix version wasnt necessarily all that

charli covering Barbie Girl into a pc music remix for the Barbie movie would have been next level iconic. and we were robbed of that.

I don't expect artists to make 5 to 6 minute long songs but can they at least make songs that are at least 3 minutes or longer not short tiktok length songs. I hate the short song trend.

It's so funny seeing radio pop stans mad at short lengths as if they aren't the reason why pop songs are getting shorter :rip:  y'all call anything 4 minutes plus boring...

That said sub-2 minute lengths are vey common in punk rock, folk and more importantly in the PC music/hyperpop space Charli inhabits. This has nothing to do with quality... y'all just need to get more accustomed to other song structures than verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus (with terrible adlibs)

speak for yourself. i never was a fan of that nor based on the responses are most people. so how exactly are we to blame? 4 minute songs aren't boring. your avi is lana del rey and she would never dare make a song that short yet her music still trends of tiktok and we love her for it. so why can't these other artists? idk who you're a fan of that you feel like we should just submit and find these ringtone lengths tolerable because you've heard songs with terrible adlibs like tf

judging by the snippet, the song also samples cobrastyle by robyn :twirl:

charli confirmed the sample in the comments and she also said that she made the song in 20 min and that she submitted speed drive and the barbie girl remix for the soundtrack and mark and greta preferred this one
