I hope y'all just have other windows open or forgot to go to your phone :deadbanana:

Anything involved with the Titanic is primed to be an event. She’s that MBG (main boat girl).

Those people clawing on the metal frame of that submarine trying to escape as they run out of oxygen while people are on tiktok making memes about them suffocating to death. What a strange world we live in :deadbanana:

They signed the death waivers, they knew exactly what they were getting into

I'm sorry but the memes over this have been taking me OUT :deadbanana2:

Why did they make it so it can only be opened from the outside

that alone would set my anxiety through the roof because it automatically means that no matter what u have to count on someone else  to leave.

I sign a death waiver going on a ropes course. It doesn't mean you're ready to die an agonizing death

I'm so done with y'all internet people being damn fools

ngl, social media and the internet making fun of this situation with memes is kinda scary to me :dancehall:

the threshold on the things that we find amusement in is completely broken, and many of us really are in dire need of a reset from the online world.

This was a recovery mission from the start. Those people are dead. And judging from how shoddy the sub is designed I highly doubt the 96hrs estimate holds up.

Oceanographers said on the news that if it’s lost communication power and rose to the surface, after 24 hours, that it would still be just as difficult to find them because only the top would show and it’s white in the middle of the ocean.

They very well could be floating at the surface but still in the same peril of losing oxygen with no way out.

Watch all that happened was a comms failure and in 2 months time the damn sub washes ashore on some beach in Greenland.

I think they've been gone. Lasting 72 hours at that pressure would be an absolute miracle. At this point I wish their families peace. :dancehall3:

On the off chance that the sub is intact if they find it, will they attempt to recover the bodies for a proper memorial?

Isn't it too much pressure to open the door from the inside anyway?

Spending 250k to die near a underwater historic landmark is one way to go out:deadbanana2:

So less than 12 hours of oxygen?

Everything about this is appalling, from the stupid concept to the obscene price to the jokes and memes in response. If they’re not dead, they’re dying right now. And we’re so desensitized that we’re joking about humans dying in real time. Rich or not. It’s all so ugly.

Thank you for saying this, I was feeling crazy for feeling some type of way about everyone making jokes of the situation. It's weird. There are real human beings trapped inside a vessel, knowing they are likely taking their final breaths. These people had real lives and families, they feel real pain and are actually suffering.

Even if they are rich idiots who made a dumb decision to go on this expedition. It's sad.

yeah I agree... like the whole thing is just... appalling. In some ways I hate what social media has done to us as a society, everything is a joke and a meme... nothing is taken serious, it's always viewed through the lens of a perpetual reality show and people think everything is some plot twist storyline. The whole thing just speaks volumes on so many levels.

This is all very black mirror episode, not just the incident but the reaction

Yeah there's some really distasteful Tiktoks right now with huge numbers of likes making all kinds of jokes. I think the fact one guy is a billionaire makes people think it's ok to make fun of them, like some kind of schadenfreude.

Also wouldn’t they already be dead if the power went out?

it’s probably cold down there

My trust issues would NOT allow me to ever enter any room, vessel whatever it is without me having the ability to unlock the door and get the hell out myself. No way would i trust anyone else to let me out :rip:
