I'm guessing their bodies will rot and decompose into skeletal remains inside the sub.  Then over time, the sub itself will probably slowly break down and decompose as well. :michael:

Their bodies will literally implode with such pressure. Scary to think about.

The fact that they were visiting the corpse of the titanic and this happens is just something ******* else!

it's crazy how we don't have the technology to locate it

right ? like we can locate ships in space but not under water.

"Simping for billionaires" is such a dumb, imature take... if Rihanna died in a private jet, would we simping for billionaires if we called it a tragedy and expressed disgust at people making light of it?

Also the superiority complex of you grabbing sources which have only come to light since the incident. The same thing has happened with car companies like Toyota where they have falsified safety results. Probably none of you would of presumed the expedition a suicide trip if presented with the same materials and accessible info as the victims prior to the incident.

If Rihanna decided to pay a fortune to squeeze into a small tube and descend to the bottom of the ocean…then maybe we would treat this the same.

Driving is dangerous but not to the level of reckless.  Flying is safer than walking these days.

Well, we can see space, we can’t see the bottom of the ocean.

Yeah same for that Malaysian plane

It really makes you wonder what's going on inside there right now.  Are they sitting there silently or panicking?  Would they turn on each other and fight over the remaining food and water?  Could they kill someone as a sacrifice and eat them in desperation to stay alive?  It's truly ****** up to think about all the possibilities. :mazen:

I was thinking the same thing. You always hear those horror stories of people who are lost at sea and resort to madness like cannibalism to stay alive. Even if food wasn't an issue, I could imagine them trying to sacrifice someone to preserve as much oxygen in the submersible as possible. :mazen:

I dont feel empathy for ultra rich people just like they dont for us. How can someone spend 250k per person to do that? It’s inhuman knowing there are people that are dying for lack of food! Rich people should be taxed way more.

well that depends. I think it's fair to assume the boat is gonna take in water. from there it would depend on how exposed they are to currents and fresh oxygen; if they remain mostly closed off, they'll decompose super slowly as the ice cold water preserves them. if they're more exposed, they'll be eaten by deep sea scavenger animals in no time. eat the rich!

At all. If that sub’s cracked open, their bodies would be instantly vaporized.

This just gets weirder and messier as more time passes, while people bizarrely count the hours down. Literally a Black Mirror episode :deadbanana4:

This is one of the many sentiment that irk me...

Had you guys heard of this business before the incident, you would assume (like the victims) that there are checks & measures in place to ensure a measure of safety, they had documents and accolades to support their claims. And obviously this is the first accident of its kind. If a plane crashes, do we call people stupid for deciding to be 40,000 in the air in a steel cylinder? :rip:

Also the fault is still yet to be determined, it could something as simple as human error, inherent fault of the craft or a freak accident.

Lmaaaao this plane analogy isn't really what you think it is. :lmao: Maybe if this was a poorly made rocket ship full of ultra-rich space tourists.

These people paid $250K each to sit criss-cross applesauce in a sub that is literally controlled by a $20 gaming console, bolted shut and can only be opened from the outside, with no GPS, no homing beacon, limited oxygen, etc.

There were a lot of safety concerns around this DIY sub from the get-go.

They should have at least made sure that there were proper safety measures and procedures in case of an emergency.

Like....it's still a foolish decision and they are still stupid. As I said, I do feel extremely sad for the 19yo boy and their families, but it's hard for me to feel empathy for the rest who were grown ass adults and signed their lives away knowing the circumstances. :michael:

Risky search/retrieval operations like this remind me of the time a father requested 2 divers to retrieve the decomposed couple year old remains of his son in the depths of the ocean. And 1 of the rescue divers died on his way down trying to retrieve the already dead body. The rescue diver's partner then had to retrieve the remains of the 2.  :deadbanana4:

Humans are just not made to be out in/on the ocean.

wait really? is the sub really able to resist such pressure? i feel like if the sub was subjected to such extreme pressure it would have imploded already

Supposedly a whistle-blower, who's a former employee of Oceangate, revealed the vessel is only rated for 1300m below the surface and the Titanic wreckage sits at almost 4000m.  Oceangate sued him and they settled quietly out of court a few years ago. :deadbanana4:

The fact that there's already a documentary airing about this tomorrow :gaycat6:

Hollywood producers are already in shambles trying to pitch and cook up scripts for "the next Titanic".

I can definitely foresee a lot of these under the radar exodus adventure trip things that people tend to do taking a huge hit because of this.

Even if they were/are rich, the whole thing is a bit sad and disturbing, can you imagine what was/is going through their mind when they found out they were lost? It's probably one of the worst feelings ever. Sadly, I think they're all dead by now, it's been several days already, miles down there, with no light and food, the chances are basically next to zero.

They’re probably as good as dead rn, but I hope they find the submersible so we can find out what happened!

I was wondering why they haven’t deployed robot/ROV knowing that they already know the location of the titanic.

But apparently they have limited ROV (and most likely most of them are not upgraded, lost and have worn out) :deadbanana4:

No, the world would be mourning a tragic loss bc it's Rihanna instead of a random group of rich people.  Ironically it's a lot safer to travel in a submarine than walk across a busy street in a suburb.  God forbid the girl in your avi crosses a street one day and gets hit, people on this site are going to tell you they don't feel bad for her because she's rich and that she should have known metal objects traveling at 60 MPH on four wheels with drivers who could be under the influence could possibly hit her.  That's the logic some of you need to unlearn.

And of course, the extreme irony of this being said on a pop music forum as if at least half of this site doesn't already stan a billionaire or near billionaires on the daily and drag "flop" artists for underperforming aka not making a lot of money from doing what they love.  It's pathetic how selective some of you are.
