Worker dies in call center, colleagues forced to work next to dead body

When Imaculada died, while working at her duties at the premises of the telemarketing company Konecta BTO, in Madrid, on June 13, her colleagues, whose functions were considered "essential" by the company, were forced to continue with their work next to her body.

Quote

When the other colleagues found out about the situation, there was widespread confusion. The company's human resources told them to continue their duties, despite the fact that Imaculada's inanimate body was still on the premises.

"When we received the news via Whatsapp, we could not believe it: "She is lying on the floor and we are receiving calls", "Are you receiving calls?", "Yes, they tell us to continue receiving calls", report the workers of the telemarketing company.

Quote

The statement from the Spanish CGT reads: "It looked like a horror movie. Next to our companion, someone was making a call. The service continued normally. It was necessary to STOP, STOP, STOP, vacate the center. Appeal to sanity while someone insistently repeated: "We are an essential service". What about life? Is there anything more essential than life? The answer seems clear, but the facts do not indicate it."

Sis...these people get close to nothing. They'd probably have one less day on their paycheck at the end of the month. This wouldn't even count as a sick day.

I mean not leave the entire day, but until the body is removed at the very least idk :deadbanana4:

I feel sick in my stomach. Whoever their supervisor is deserves to go to hell. Malevolent!

If they did that, they'd be fired.

I worked in one for about 3 years and I completely agree with this statement.

Humanity in it's current form (thank you greed, capitalism and selfishness) needs to rot.

Yea, it's pretty shitty to work in a call center

Especially in smaller countries where big call centers go to, cuz it's cheap and they love to not treat people ..like people

they should sue

There's a special place in hell for the supervisor and whoever gave the order to keep working under that situation.

Black Mirror irl :biblio:

Did no one call 911 at the call center?

Incredibly, incredibly disrespectful. Stories like these and then attempts to bring back child labor in the industrialized world... humanity is going backwards.

They would have to fire me because I'm leaving wtf :biblionny:
