I'm not even shocked that he said this (privately) because, as quiet as it's kept, homophobia and transphobia are pretty casual in the UK. OT: It's interesting to hear Rishi express an opinion on something instead of reciting pre-prepared bullet points. Not really surprised he's anti-trans though. Conservatives seem to think this will be something to beat Labour over the head with at the next election, but people really don't give a **** about trans people. People just want to be able to afford to a weekly shop and turn on their central heating in winter

Idk everything about Rishi's image is carefully curated. Just look at his social media, it looks more like a celebrity's than a politician's. He's barely ever allowed to open his mouth in public because whenever he does, he makes a colossal fool of himself. If Rishi wanted to publicly pick a side in the trans debate I doubt it would've been via a leaked video. It's just not his style.
