LCTV Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 I always thought it was crazy how they stopped at such an insanely high moment. Like the album after Celebrity could've gone in so many directions visually and musically. I get Justin was ' over it and solo ' but even Destiny's Child had a close out era after Beyonce released Dangerously In Love.
JustHoran Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 (edited) Yes, they literally broke up at the height of their fame It was dumb. Justin's ego was too huge from everything I've heard and thought he was better than them. I doubt we will ever get a reunion, sadly. They also had 1 last record on their contract with Jive so they expected to do another album after Justified, but didn't happen. Edited June 17, 2023 by JustHoran
Iaintsorry Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Justin knew he’d be more successful if he went solo at their peak. He wanted to build off N’Sync hype when it was at its hottest, but when it was dwindling.
Johnny Jacobs Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 justin was smart to quit when they were at their peak and he was still young... considering they only have 2 bops imo i wouldve loved another one or two. 00's swedish pop bops were the best
Johnny Cash Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 It was a smart decision because if they had done another album FSLS wouldn't exist 1

OT: They could have released an album in 2003-2005 or maybe in 2009-2011 when JT took that huge break. I think it would’ve done well but JT was clearly over Nsync
Asparagus Spears Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 I think it would be cool to hear an nsync record in 2024. Forget the new Justin album

I think it would’ve done well also. But not releasing another album was a missed opportunity. Now it would bomb. The ship as sail.
Beautiful Garbage Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 I think they disbanded at the right time, tbh. Even around the time they dropped Celebrity we could tell the market was already shifting to a more R&B/hip-hop oriented audience and teen-pop was on its way to fade into oblivion. Hence why they were smart enough to book a collab with the likes of Nelly.
Marry The Gods Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Nostalgia They should have released one more album in 2004 just a few years before the Future Sex/Love Sounds era.

I don’t know how it would’ve done commercially but they had the chops to do it without him. Edited June 17, 2023 by professor2000 2 1

I used to think BSB was corny for continuing on, but they had a certain maturity about their image/sound that allowed it to work. NYSYNC was always the younger more edgy group, imo…so idk how it would’ve faired if they kept going for too much longer. They were getting up there in age too.
Keter Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Yes and Justin should’ve done one less. I wanna live in the alternate reality where JC blew up and not JT 5 1
okgo Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Maybe but I wouldn't trade it for those JT albums instead anyway so (just wish he hadn't been shitty to our girls)
livelikemusic Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 They probably could have, but I doubt they would've promoted it, so I'm alright with them going out on an absolute HIGH than going out on a low.

He unfortunately released some of the most try hard music for his first couple singles and destroyed his own hype. (low key bop tho)
OCBoy212 Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 No. That sound was pretty much done by Celebrity, I think they did it right goin out on a high. NOW The PCDs should have done a 3rd album before trying to push Nicole solo on us. 1
Mtjjproducer Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 no tbh. I LOVE NSYNC but looking back it was the right choice. they left on a high note. the time they disbanded was perfect because the teen pop bubble burst and the musical landscape was switching to rnb and rock. they couldn've done a terrible pop rock sound like Backstreet Boys did which flopped. I do think it would've been nice to do an album around 2010 when Justin was on his musical break and pop was coming back though. also for those saying jc should've had a bigger career. his music sucked. I like some of the songs off Schizophrenic but as a whole it was bad. Justin made MUCH better music than JC. I LOVE his voice but he released bad music. his second album sounded like it was going to be good though. people are dick riding JC because they are bitter about Justin's success and riding his hate train. Same thing with Michelle from DC. ya asses didn't like her in the group but now people are trying to rewrite history saying she was the glue of the group with her bridges when everyone hated her until 3 years ago. remember poormichelle
Psylocke Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 What are you guys talking about Celebrity being their peak? It was their least successful album and the singles are all forgotten. They disbanded at the right time, a boyband album in the mid 2000s would probably have underperformed (see BSB's Never Gone) and JT's solo career wouldn't have been as big.
Keeandga Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 I think they were supposed to do a Destiny Fulfilled situation, I remember maybe Lance saying he declined offers because they were was a date they were suppose to regroup, but Justin blew up and left the rest of them in the dust. I think Nsync era/reunion could do better than his next solo era though.
DamianSolo Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 It would have been roughly 2003 or 2004 that it would have released; at that point, the sound of mainstream music had shifted quite drastically. Unless they'd have adapted to it, I don't think it would have been beneficial to release another album. They would have been left behind, in a manner of speaking, tarnishing their own legacy. Backstreet Boys enjoyed moderate success, thanks to their shift in sound; they endured. It's possible NSYNC could have, too, but Justin knew he'd be much bigger as a solo artist. He did what was best for himself, which I don't fault him for. I just wish he would have released more albums; he could have released two in the time in between FS/LS and The 20/20 Experience.
Truth Teller Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 No, if they had tried to launch anything in 2004-5 with their corny knee-jerk choreos, their kooky outfits and their try-hard wangster aesthetic, it would have been a disaster. They were already losing their footing with Celebrity. Boy bands were OUT. We instead wanted JC to have his solo career and be beautiful and talented but we were deprived. 1
Katamari Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Justin got his karma so things worked out but yeah another album would have been great

Jive capitalized on the Britney scandal and literally took funds from JC and left him in the dust for jt. He’s a great singer and songwriter, the industry did him dirty. OT: nah I’m glad they had a trilogy and left on a good note. They were already shifting their sound with gone and girlfriend ft Nelly. Even bsb had their golden era trilogy from Backstreets Back, Millennium and Black & Blue
