Cruel Summer Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Independents being the only group of the three actually up this year I don't like that blue line dropping. Very sinister.

Very sinister. Meh it's probably social conservatives that like The Dems economic platform more than the Republican one.

Very sinister. Part of me wonders if there's an element of volatility that's found in party affiliation that's impacting it; as in, affiliating as a Democrat is more often subject to sudden changes than identifying as a Republican. People are ID'ing less with either party, but as where Republicans are on a steady decline, Dems usually get a surge of new registrations during election years, and then those independents who registered as Dems due to negative partisanship end up reverting back to independents in the following years. Some volatility in the Dems number isn't new; see: the jump in 2017 that then tethered off. Dems in 2023 are where they were in 2020. For Republicans, they've lost basically a decade. The guy who's helped run the Harvard youth poll was sounding alarms about the state of young voters atm and affiliation with the Dem party Edited June 16, 2023 by Communion
Into The Void Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 The republican approval is higher than I expected tbh
Sannie Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 (edited) It is not that there are more people becoming bigoted, it is more people becoming comfortable with being openly bigoted. They have always hated us, it is just now they are not afraid to be open about it. The morality question is fully religion based, and the religious conservatives are lashing out at a world that is changing and leaving them behind. Edited June 17, 2023 by Sannie
