Its all over my FYP, a bunch of videos with 200k+ likes I mean he's right, it's nothing compared to drivers license/good 4 u, they were literally everywhere. But that was mostly due to the new drama, people were eating it up along with the songs. Now the drama part is long time gone which makes the numbers quite impressive.
BuzzCharts Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 Safe to say the #1 debut is on lock, or are we still gonna be careful to avoid the jinx?

Luckitty Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 is this a safe space? i've only watched the mv once and i'm a livie
liquiddiamonds Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 I think it will go viral around halloween lol I’m sure another single will be out before September that will build on its momentum. I think this will have legs on its own, since radio is picking it up healthily and streaming is looking really good
liquiddiamonds Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 (edited) Like virality is something that artists shouldnt strive for, just embrace when it happens. Deja Vu wasn’t viral at first, but these days its first seconds instrumental and sped up versions are things I see on TikToks way more often than any bits from G4U or DL - both arguably bigger. I also hear a sped up Traitor more often in videos. Edited July 2, 2023 by liquiddiamonds 3

I think Petra has a very interesting aesthetic perspective on teenage girls that fit Olivia’s angst like a glove. This video was more disjointed than the magic they delivered on G4U. That one was a genius teenage classic on arrival. I only had a small issue with the rushed ending. It had everything we associate with teenage imagery with a subversive touch of sadomasochism, violence, gasoline, etc on the other hand with Brutal only the ending scene hooked me, again because of the beautiful juxtaposition of Olivia in goth clothes and classical ballet and just chaos surrounding them. The rest needed more work and some felt like legit filler. Vampire felt very tame in comparison to both. It’s more in your face with the imagery and not as subversive with its commentary on fame. Only the ending feels vital. Didn’t like the twilight reference for the first minute, appreciated the twist as a stage performance, but from then on all could’ve been better fleshed out. Best part hands down is Olivia in blood floating and singing the final chorus before the guitars outro with the sudden ending. Still, I think it shows promise for a better videography for this era. It feels more aggressive and mature. But I’m still waiting for the Petra-Olivia paranoid lover joint, just like Fiona had with Paul Thomas Anderson for Fast As You Can
BuzzCharts Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 She continues her streak of flopping on iTunes haha. It’s not a big deal but those sales will be important if she wants to compete with Morgan after this week.
chosensparkles Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 they finally combined the two versions of vampire since the clean version ain't showing on US AM Pop charts anymore

Swifties grew up with iTunes so they are used to going out and buying. Livies don’t even know iTunes still exist and aren’t going to waste money even if they did.

chosensparkles Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 I also watched the videos like a few times, not bc I don't like it but mostly bc I need to be really entertained to go back to videos
slw84 Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 Good for her. This will set up her album run perfectly.
BuzzCharts Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 I don’t like videos where the song gets interrupted. It was only 15 seconds but it was still too much for me. The message/meaning behind the video is great, the execution though is lacking at times 2
Mason Gooding Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 somebody mashed madison beer's selfish vocals to vampire instrumental and it fits so well
