Josh Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Two very mid pop albums neither albums are beloved by ATRL but which do you prefer?
Space Cowboy Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Midnights has like 5 good songs at least, while ESV has like 2
Rev8 Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 I like mostly everything on ESV however I also like songs on Midnights..but its downside is that it has too much songs and that gives it fillers naturally
wowsignal14 Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 how are they even comparable esv has one good song lol 1
luckythisway Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 % of songs Downloaded to my Library Midnights: 10/20 = 50% ESV: 6/13 = 46%
Life Savers Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 ESV is entirely fillers other than Flowers and River.
CottageHore Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Both are very boring and forgettable albums. Only one of them is obscenely overrated though.
MonsterNavy Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 I vibe with ESV more tbh I have never listened to Midnights past it first 2 weeks
PoisonedIvy Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) Miley doesn’t have a single album better than a Taylor album except Plastic Hearts (better than Lover and Debut) or Dead Petz (better than everything except Speak Now, Red, and folk+more but y’all aren’t ready for that discussion ) I love Miley but ESV is ACTUALLY mid. I do love Jaded, Rose Colored Lenses, Violet Chemistry, Handstand, and Island though Edited June 13, 2023 by WeFoundTrouble
ttsmu Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Flowers alone is way better than Midnights. So Miley>>>>>> 2
Taylucifer Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 RCL is the only good song on ESV so i choose Midnights
Sylpher Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Midnight's dream pop and atmospheric pop just doesn't hit as hard as ESV's more rock and dance genre.
kimberly Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 % of songs Downloaded to my Library Midnights: 12/23 = 52% ESV: 7/12 = 58% also Violet Chemistry kinda clears everything on Midnights.
Rotunda Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Honestly the only song on Midnights that I need to revisit is YOYOK. There are other songs I like, but that is…a masterpiece. ESV has 4 songs that I think are essentials for me (Rose Coloured Lenses, Thousand Miles, River, You). I say this as someone who uses Taylor a lot more than I use Miley.
1989 Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Midnights by far. I like Miley, and there’s a couple of good songs on ESV, but it kind of is the epitome of a mid album propped up by those few good songs, it’s a real step back for her in my opinion. Midnights isn’t Taylor’s best album, but 75% of it ranges from incredible to good, there’s really only about three songs I never revisit.
Alldeezy Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 hmm I like them both, I probably use only 4 songs from both albums, however Violet Chemistry alone makes ESV win.
Gladiator Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) While Midnights is an album that I could really do without in Taylor's discography, it does have a handful of songs that I enjoy immensely. Meanwhile, I have not listened to Endless Summer Vacation since it was released and probably never will return to it again. Edited June 13, 2023 by Gladiator
Maroonx Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 They are both great. I would however go with Midnights on this one.
