It is more than a year away and I just want it to be over already Edit: Meant to put that in the election thread lol those people who believe that are not in tune with reality. No one who disliked Trump before likes him now. If anything, there are less republicans who like Trump than there were even 2-3 years ago at this point. 2024 is going to be bad for the GOP, in particular if they keep alienating Gen Z and ranting about 'boogeyman of the month/culture wars' nonsense. It's the exact opposite of a strategy for growth. 1

This is a pop music forum. I wouldn’t call anyone here a partisan actor, most people on here don’t pay that much attention to politics. But they do agree that Trump = Bad By the way, who in music do you stan?

Which law does Alvin Bragg and Fani Willis based on to inventing new legal theories ? who made that law ? And Clinton got a slap on the wrist while Trump and GOP in power , right ? why are you blame DEM for the incompetent of Trump and GOP ?

You can't really take that away from this because what did Clinton get for committing perjury (an actual crime backed by actual laws unlike the unconstitutional Espionage Act that Trump is being charged under)? Disbarment, and that was it. His impeachment was obfuscated by liberals as being about a blowjob rather than the felony he actually was being impeached for, so his approval rating even went up even though he actually did deserve to be removed from office and imprisoned for a felony crime. Most of Trump's crimes have been misdemeanors upgraded by partisan actors to more serious charges so they can gain political clout. The law in these cases isn't about upholding the law. It's about punishing Trump specifically for being Trump while Clinton, Bush, etc. have all gotten off completely for their much more serious and abhorrent breaches of justice. "Classified information" charges are a joke. His actual crimes he's committed (the war crimes in Syria and elsewhere you yourself have mentioned) are ignored because they are the will of the intelligence community and MIC, and that's the part that should be focused on. But no. We're sitting here focused on pieces of paper instead of missiles and bombs and the lives they've taken. 1

Wasn't referring AS MUCH to individual posters on ATRL as I was Bragg+Willis, anyway. And ir I were, it'd really just be the extremely obvious ones (who I won't mention because then they'll read this and feel the need to reply). As for whom I stan(ned) for, I used to be a Gaga stan, but kinda lost interest in stanning (not just her, but in general) after ARTPOP. Wasn't really an OGH, but the reactions I got for posting like one were funny until I guess I pissed off one of the Monsters I actually considered a friend for the last time, and now we don't really talk anymore. One of my deepest regrets actually, but I've moved on from pop stan culture (both the positive and the negative sides) because of it. Joanne wasn't really for me either. A few songs were alright, but I liked most of Chromatica so there's that.

HardBambi Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Guys, slightly off topic, but pls help! I live in London, during the pandemic I was shocked by Trump and its supidity and so I became addicted to American politics, I watch it on a daily basis and many times I prefer it to Netflix if I’m alone (Drag Race always has priority 😀) I think I watched it in the hope that ‘thr good forces’ will eventually win but American politicians are so f’ed up that I refuse to give one more minute to those horrible Republicans ( Jordan, McCarthy, Greene, Graham, DeSantis and .. I can’t even spell her name Bo… Boe…. Ewwwww!) I think the Trump arrest I will always watch with maximum interest, but for the rest, pls help with some advice, I don’t want to waste another moment with those others

The judge is gonna grant Trump as much delays as possible and that would mean he's still in the presidential race. He would probably lose again, but that won't stop "Nat Christians" his followers from going violent ala Jan 6 again. Strap in for a long ride, sis. 1
Rep2000 Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Also, why are the tankies talking about Hillary AND Bill Clinton again?!?

UNTIL EARLY JANUARY when the Republican Iowa caucuses begin (the Dems situation of changed dates and locales is an entirely separate cluster**** you need to watch closely but not until then), at which point U.S. cable news is a cluster**** and Twitter's a cesspool, so just ask questions on the U.S. politics thread once we get to that month next year and you'll get an answer at some point. Once we get to that point, there's about 16 or 17 subplots of this saga you can follow, but again, for your mental health, I would push any of the DNC blocking of Marianne debates and any Cornel West impact on black turnout to the side, among other issues, until early Spring and focus solely on: 1) The U.S. appeals court process for Jack Smith's Mar-a-Lago documents+Jan.6 cases & Fani Willis' Georgia 2020 election case 2) Trump and DeSantis polling, PAC ads, talking point discussion and attempts to outflank from the right a) Trump coming for DeSantis on trying to privatize Social Security and Medicare b) DeSantis trying to come for Trump on vaccines from the right and Trump doing a 180 from his Operation Warpspeed promotion as a result 1

Vermillion Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 GW University Law Professor and Fox News Analyst Jonathan Turley painted a grave outlook for former President Donald Trump following the unsealed indictment alleging he violated the Espionage Act. Turley has previously been aggressive in his defense of most — if not all — of Trump’s legal problems but has previously called the unsealed indictment “extremely damning.” “All the government has to do is stick the landing on one count, and he could have a terminal sentence. We’re talking about crimes that have a ten or 20-year period as a maximum.” “The evidence here is quite strong.” he continued before hedging a tad. “Now, we have not heard the other side. Generally, the indictments are a lot stronger on the day they are issued than on the next day, so [Trump’s attorneys] may be able to knock down some of these issues.” X

But yeah, I can see him being found guilty of at least a handful. The sentencing will depend on the judge.
