I dont get all the fuss about #1. She has more than enough #1s and it will get closer on its own in the coming weeks. Radio still seems very far from peaking.

No reason to do anything weird

oh i'd missed how this already became her 2nd longest top 10 on US Spotify.

Of course, we'll never know how long 1989's singles would've stayed on if she didn't have that whole thing with spotify back then.

are we sure it's going to hit #1 on radio at all tho?

It's pretty unlikely for it to be an all-format radio songs #1 since HAC is moving slower than I thought it would, and AC is barely touching it, but a top 3 peak there should be coming as Last Night and Flowers collapse.

It's basically guaranteed to be her longest running pop #1, though. Vampire has slowed considerably, Fast Car is a month's worth of spins behind, and literally nothing else is growing. So, unless some massive new single comes out of nowhere (a new Dua single is literally the only thing I could see even possibly pulling this, but since DTN is showing decent longevity, I imagine her lead will come later in the year), I think Cruel Summer is set to remain on top through the end of August and into September :gaycat4:

No big release this week. Hopefully, the song will reach a new peak.

It’s expected to go top 5 this week, potentially #4.

I absolutely think it's going #1 on radio. Its still extremely early in its run

On the Hot 100 possible #4 this week and #3 next week.

No reason to get desperate

the way the new releases the last few weeks have been stopping it from getting to a higher hot 100 peak + it seems to have peaked on pop so now we have to see how well it stabilizes...omg MOVE mother, do something!! :jonnycat:

AC is not barely touching it lol. AC has embraced it and it is increasing faster than singles usually do there even when karma is also increasing and about to enter top 10 and AH remains stable at #2. It will not peak #1 in overall radio because the timing but still is going to do well in AC

That was a poor choice of wording, on my part. I guess a more apt way of putting it would be that AC radio is too wedded to Anti-Hero at the moment to have any significant impact on overall radio for Cruel Summer until it gets much closer to the top given the way AC spins are so heavily clustered in the top 5. Cruel Summer will certainly get to the upper echelon eventually, but at the speed AC radio goes (and considering they have Karma to work with in the meantime; and that they're still holding on to Anti-Hero), I really don't think we could expect that until much much later in the year, maybe after it's left the top spot on pop or HAC, which would disadvantage it on the overall radio chart

it's the only song in the overall radio top 10 with less than 4 formats

does she need to pander like the others to get play on other formats??

How many weeks are we thinking it's going to top the Pop radio chart? :duca: Right now, it looks SAFE this month. :dies:

At the very least she'd need the peaks of pop, HAC, and AC to all line up (or to be pretty close to each other), because while Last Night is collapsing, Fast Car is growing steadily and Calm Down is decreasing very slowly

I think the only issue is we don't know how much the US leg being over will affect her streams and this tracking week she basically has a show every week

AC is an extremely slow moving format. You can't really count on it for chart peaks but it'll help with longevity. What CS needs for now is to reach #1 on HAC

This should come in the next couple of weeks if we're lucky, really just depending on how strong Fast Car stays once it hits the top

So close to Last Night on US Spotify :lakitu:

It really needed a small (medium) push to get number 1, the streaming numbers even looking better than ever... but... nothing. Weird.
