...seriously, why are you always so negative all the time? :rip:

Can't we just enjoy how big of a hit CS is instead of focusing on it not being #1 on the BB100? :rip:

CD singles (4 different covers) would probably be more effective than a remix

A heart shaped cruel summer vinyl would probably shoot this to #1

Another +500 update on Pop, so it will reach #1 in 4-5 days at the rate it’s going.

I was curious, so I did a tiny bit of digging and found out Anti-Hero reached the summit of Pop Radio in 58 days. For Cruel Summer, it’s on track to do it around ~36 days after its service date. Absolutely nuts.

I just hope it's not gonna peak on radio too soon, we need longevity.

Yeah, I think it’ll be her biggest radio hit at this point. So I would count on it sticking around a long while. We have a big help with the fact that Pop Radio is in a serious drought with very little new material to play, so it’s not only helping CS ascend very quickly but will likely help it stay atop for a while.

And on streaming, I think it’ll hit its peak in the US around the SoFi dates. Probably around the time it’ll peak on radio too, so that’s when they should go for the Hot 100 #1 if it’s within reach. It would be a serve if she has a MV for it and premieres it at the last US show, or one of the last ones.

Yeah you're right, it'll probably have a lot of longevity. I just got used in recent years seeing Taylor getting great peaks too quickly and then fall off like a rock and it kind of traumatized me :rip:

We’re out of the trenches finally :jonny:

Karma most likely matching Style and Wildest Dreams’ runs in the top 10 (9 weeks), Anti-Hero would be in the 30s range if not for Karma, and I think Cruel Summer can clear 20 weeks for sure. Hopefully this song doesn’t drop too much on streaming (in the US, bc globally it’s waaaay far from peaking) as summer ends and the US shows stop.

That's batshit :deadbanana2:I think this will still have longevity on the chart too, at least through August, but once the summer ends this will probably drop like a rock.

So I think CS will peak at #5

So many songs moving much more quickly and doing better than this

In a perfect world I would love to see this climbing to #1!!! But that country song’s reign of terror will continue for a while

Part of this success is thank you AH and Karma they have rebuild Taylor goodwill in pop radio, AH came from a very difficult time for her

Does anyone actually think this will serve longevity??? I sincerely doubt that. It’s literally called cruel summer. I expect its rotations to plummet at the end of august. By virtue of its lyrics it has a finite life on radio. Do you think it makes sense to be spinning cruel summer in October? :deadbanana2:

Yes. I expect it to have a lot of longevity. Beyond summer

Well I love your optimism and I’ll be really glad if it does, I just don’t think it’s realistic. CS deserves tho :gaycat4:

am I the only one who doesn't see Cruel Summer's airplay just dropping like a rock cause it ain't summer anymore :rip: I see it performing like Anti-Hero, slowly fading away during Oct-Jan

Well, it seems like she might be releasing a tour video

A tour video for this bop? She deserves the worst

Posted

Not a tour video :rip:

I mean, it’s to be expected but this was a song that always deserved a proper aesthetic.
