mael Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Maybe She should have waited to release EP on Friday.

PoisonPill Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Aside from everything else, the fact that people said this was a seasonal song and it would plummet post summer (to be fair I thought that too) i also think it’ll become an annual summer song and re-surge every year. 1 1
Holiest Dreams Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 The live version might still be selling well on iTunes considering it’s still holding off a BTS member’s new song from #1, and literally everything they release goes #1 there 2nd week is looking more and more likely. 2

Yes, #1 for 2 weeks is likely. Cruel Summer would've been an easy 6/7 weeks hot 100 topper if she wasn't this silent. 2
littlebodybigheart Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 this song’s run reminds me a lot of “truth hurts” by lizzo
Maroonx Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 We won girls. What a sweet way to end the week x 3

But during both of their runs they kept getting close to the #1 so many times and either got unlucky or just didn’t move when they could’ve easily gotten it, so fans gave up hope. And then FINALLY their teams moved
Peak Now Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 How the **** is the live version holding off the Jungkook song... I know it's technically not his song but still. Taytober indeed 2

What_A_Mess Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 A second week at number 1 please! She better release a tour video of cruel summer to secure a second week at number 1
PoisonedIvy Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 I also strategically didn’t buy live version or remix version, so I can purchase this week and get that second week at #1 2
Dear Reader Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 US Swifties did what NEEDED to be done! 2
Cruel Summer Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 I honestly wonder if it’s going to last so long that it cannibalizes the 1989 TV single’s chart run like how it blocked ICSY from being a full single at all. Like I seriously can’t imagine Taylor or her label had any clue this would be a ten week pop radio #1, only peaking on the Hot 100 after that pop radio peak, four months into its official single run after a couple months of slowly rising up the chart of its own volition… like this is a monster hit It honestly feels a little like Katy’s Dark Horse, how it outshined the official second single and became her biggest hit ever in the US. Of course, that’s probably where the parallels end. 2

And then FINALLY their teams moved in that aspect, yes. it’s just interesting though that kill bill spent 10+ weeks at #2, but cruel summer is going straight from a #3 peak to a #1 peak. lol. i compared it to truth hurts mostly because that was an old ass song too that blew up and peaked at #1. another fun fact, “truth hurts” was released as a single in may 2019 and peaked in september of 2019 (4 months after release) and cruel summer was released in june 2023 and will peak in october 2023 (4 months after release). 1
IBeMe Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 the fact she just guaranteed a 2nd week at #1 by releasing the remix and tour audio and stuff later in the week is amazing! I hope Cruel Summer doesnt end up blocking whatever gets a music video for 1989 TV (presumably S!ut!). I hope it goes like this Week 1: Cruel Summer Week 2: Cruel Summer Week 3: S!ut! Week 4: Cruel Summer and then whatever ends up toppling Cruel Summer (likely IDGAF especially if Drake has a music video ready)
woohoo Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 I saved my live version purchase for Amazon for this week and my remix purchase on both Amazon and Apple for this week. 4 1

LostInStereo100 Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 1989TV better be huge cause CS is getting bigger Like I don’t know if a new single will topple CS at this rate 1989TV is out in 6 days and CS still hasn’t peaked
mael Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 (edited) When Her number ones on the Hot 100 and BB200 are from two different eras, what then? She will truly be in Her Eras era. Edited October 21, 2023 by mael 1
IBeMe Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 omg if Cruel Summer ends up blocking S!ut! and she has another #2 peaking track 2
