By the Water Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Lover’s performance back then wasn’t because of lack of promo, she did a lot for that song. Sometimes a song doing well years later doesn’t mean it would’ve done well back then. Maybe CS would have smashed if released as a lead but I doubt it would have done this well had it been pushed after The Man 1

americanlife Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 #4 on US Spotify this could totally go #1 this summer

SeeingStars1515 Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 I am not a Taylor fan overall, it just isn't my style of music, but this is prob top 3 from her
SimpleKindofLife Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Abel and Taylor both getting #1s from old albums in 2023 would be so cool. The modern King and Queen of pop I fear

cruelhprince Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 I feel like this might outdo Anti Hero in consumption since it has a 4 year advantage but Anti Hero will probably end up bigger chart wise
Bussea Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 I cant force myself to like this song, but it’s another hit for Ms. Swift
Nova_23 Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 it’s crazy to me how fresh this song still sounds. if you told taylor recorded this earlier in the year i’d have believed it. does not sound dated at all. probably another reason why it’s able to smash like this 1
Nova_23 Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 also blasting this song while driving with the windows down and sunroof open is such a vibe omg. it’s just gonna keep getting bigger and bigger as the tour moves across country
Cruel Summer Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 At this rate the only reason this won't go #1 is because she's unlikely to make a push - like a video, remixes, etc - for such an old song and because Olivia has a likely hit incoming later this month. I do see it making it to the top five since it's already stronger on streaming than I expected and it's catching on like fire at pop radio before even being officially added - unless everyone gets over it super fast, this will have some legs as a smash. If Taylor DOES decide she wants to fight for a few weeks at #1 with remixes or physical singles or both, all bets are off and I expect her to snatch a few weeks in late July or early August successfully
Bamboo Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 I can smell the 13 color variants of the 7" A Side - "Cruel Summer" / B Side - "Need (From the Vault)" vinyl being printed as we speak she better push this masterpiece to #1
LostInStereo100 Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 I can totally see this getting a shot at number one. It’s already at 10 million radio impressions and likely to start jumping faster on billboard. This will probably be top 20 in July already
PurrKaty Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 This song is making moves I’ve been waiting years for this
pepsimanvn Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 Is this peaking on streaming a bit too early compared to radio to have the most optimal impact on the chart?
