vale9001 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 (edited) She will definitely release a video + remixes the week of the movie release, when streams of course will increase again, to get the #1. Edited October 1, 2023 by vale9001
vale9001 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 It's good you need to calm down and me! didn't go #1. If cruel Summer can go there She would have all classics as #1s (expect maybe for Willow). I prefer 10 numbers hits all people know and remember after years than 15 where most of them are songs forgotten after a couple of months.

Klein Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I had completely given up on Cruel Summer going #1, but the way things are going, I can see it happening on the week the tour film is released. Taylor just has to capitalize on this to fully secure it. Let's see how things play out. 2
Squall Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Let's hope a Drake song doesn't smash since he's dropping the week prior to the movie
LostInStereo100 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Could this be top 10 Year End Billboard? Or is it too “recent” that it started charting. The longevity is immaculate

The longevity is immaculate It's pretty likely to end up in the top 20, but it would need several weeks at #1 to make that happen, and I don't think anyone is seriously predicting it. Anti-Hero is still comfortably locked for #4, though
Maroonx Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 I don't see it hitting #1, but I def see it peaking at #2

Michael196 Posted October 2, 2023 Author Posted October 2, 2023 Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” advances 6-4 on the Hot 100, after hitting No. 3, and elevates 2-1 to crown the Radio Songs chart (76.1 million, up 2%). The song becomes Swift’s eighth Radio Songs leader, as she breaks out of a tie with Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Usher for the fourth-most since the chart began in December 1990; Rihanna leads with 13 Radio Songs No. 1s, followed by Mariah Carey (11) and Bruno Mars (nine). Here’s an updated look at Swift’s Radio Songs No. 1s: Title, Weeks at No. 1, Year(s): “Cruel Summer,” one, to date, 2023 “Anti-Hero,” five, 2022-23 “Wildest Dreams,” two, 2015 “Bad Blood” (feat. Kendrick Lamar), five, 2015 “Blank Space,” six, 2014-15 “Shake It Off,” four, 2014 “I Knew You Were Trouble.,” four, 2013 “You Belong With Me,” two, 2009 As previously reported, “Cruel Summer” becomes Swift’s sole longest-leading No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart, where it leads for an eighth week, surpassing her seven-week reign with “I Knew You Were Trouble.” “Cruel Summer” was originally released on Swift’s 2019 album Lover. Republic Records began promoting it as a single in June, as Swift has performed it on her The Eras Tour, her first in which she’s been able to spotlight songs from Lover, which was released shortly before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, the song is the second released in the 2010s to top Radio Songs this year; The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Die for You” (also on Republic) dominated for two weeks in February, after it was originally released, by The Weeknd solo, in 2016. Meanwhile, with Radio Songs No. 1s in the 2000s, ’10s and ’20s, Swift is the only artist with leaders on the chart in each of the three decades, as well as the only artist with No. 1s as a lead act in any three distinct decades, dating to the ‘90s. 2

Maroonx Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 Wait, how Is Taylor #1 on radio songs?? Is Kworb's website off?? I am not complaining, I love itttt, but I'm slightly confused

I am not complaining, I love itttt, but I'm slightly confused Kworb uses Mediabase radio audience numbers and Billboard uses Luminate audience numbers (they're basically run the same and I actually thought they'd merged last year), but they have weird differences in their calibrations and which stations they assign to which format and which ones they don't even track, so while the numbers are pretty similar they're never the same. For instance, Olivia's Vampire was a Mediabase Pop format #1, but on Billboard it peaked at #2. Taylor had the same thing with You Belong With Me on pop (and Delicate on all format). It's kind of a mess 2 2

PoisonPill Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 What are we putting the odds of snatching the BB #1 on movie release week?
Theluckyone Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 9 minutes ago, PoisonPill said: What are we putting the odds of snatching the BB #1 on movie release week? If things hold up on radio (looking very likely given the stability), and if Drake doesn’t have a runaway smash single, it looks VERY likely that CS can sneak a week at #1. But Taylor probably has to release a standalone cruel summer MV (tour version) on YouTube to increase these odds- which she might or might not. 1
