i think shes saving the push for 1989. maybe the vault track will be a hit and get the TTH cover. it’s possible that some company gave her an ultimatum and said you can have the next single or CS promo, but not both.

Yes, we’re go to be posting this forever now since there's no 1989 tv vault track excuse to explain why they didn't push Cruel Summer in August, when 1989 tv is coming in October 27!!, literally 2 months after Cruel Summer's month monumentum, her team are just dumb and bad at marketing when it comes to Hot 100. They always mess up every era on Hot 100

it’s not about her team. other artists are also trying to film videos and get on playlists and perform on tv etc all the time, taylor can’t always take precedence when she’s been releasing non stop for years. it’s these other companies- the ones for spotify and itunes and tiktok etc that couldn’t support Cruel Summer with such short notice- just a theory.

 

that being said, she absolutely could have done a quick remix or acoustic. there’s no excuse for that

yes, her power is pretty minor such that she can't get funds for both august and the end of october. poor her.
