He had potential but chose to double down on the anti-woke mind virus nonsense instead of trying to pretend to care about economic populist rhetoric. His national ambitions are done. 100% agree. He had his foot on trumps neck right after the midterms, seeing as how republicans flopped all over the country and Florida was one of the only states to actually pull off a red wave, he’s done everything wrong since then. Trump significantly helped ending him by pointing out his awful policies he voted for in congress to boot. I’m 100% convinced that no matter what, he will never be president. Not now, not in 2028, and not ever. Scott Walker 2.0 I fear

Trump adores his base (that give him consistent narcissistic supply). DeSantis can’t stomach seeing his plebeian supporters in the flesh. Additionally, so many other political miscalculations just show how out of his depth he is. The decision to launch his campaign on Twitter? So stupid. Regardless of how you feel about Elon Musk, it’s obvious Twitter is not a technologically reliable platform and wouldn’t be the safest platform to launch your campaign. Additionally, you lose the grandeur that comes from a live launch at a rally. But he made that choice because he only exists in the culture war. His campaign is as if a chronically online right winger decided to run for president. He has no shot in politics outside of floor. His best bet in national politics is running for a FL Senate seat. But, we’ll see how he recovers locally as he continues to fumble.

Rick Scott is obviously running again in 24, and Rubio just got another term, and he’s young. I see him making another flop attempt in 28 where he’ll be yesterdays news unless he lands a VP slot (doubtful), or doing what ex politicians do best: a career as a lobbyist!

Ron DeSantis not having a viable shot isn’t a problem for me. That’s the only thing I disagree with you on.
CottageHore Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 I would rejoice if this mf croaked. The damage he’s done to so many marginalized communities is obscene. Old hag 1

Oh, it’s no problem for me either I just don’t see anyway he recovers locally or nationally when it’s all said and done unless he runs for like, a House seat. He’s term limited, and there won’t be an open senate seat anytime soon more than likely. And he’s royally pissed off arguably the most powerful corporation on the planet (outside of like, the Military Industrial Complex) who will go out of their way to make sure he doesn’t have a seat at the table for a more powerful position anytime soon. And its not like he’s trump who has the extreme popularity with the base to overcome those problems either

Disney is far from being a company I remotely like, but it’s fun seeing them dismantle this dirt stain of a man.

Unless you’re one of the (very very very few) politicians in this country who’s support is 100% organic and grassroots funded (like Bernie and Rashida, etc), there is a handful of corporations/company’s you do not cross whatsoever under any circumstances and they are the MIC, the Pharmaceutical industrial, probably Apple, and Disney. Meatball is funded by Oligarchs, and Royally crossed Disney so….
Sazare Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 (edited) I mean yeah he’s evil but what exactly is it about him that’s turning voters off? Is it the autism smears? EDIT: oh I forgot about the Disney thing Edited June 7, 2023 by Sazare
HausofNick Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 He has destroyed Florida and ruined the lives of innocent people who live here. I hope he crumbles and never has an ounce of success again. ******* scum.

Is it the autism smears? 1.) his awful policies that he voted for in congress are being exposed by trump (he wanted to gut social security and Medicare which is an absolute NO among the majority of the country, and he wanted to raise the national sales tax from 0% to 23%. Another absolute NO from the electorate) 2.) his extreme bills he’s passed that play awful in non bright red states like book banning, his blatant homophobia, and (most importantly as this would ruin him in pretty much every swing state) his 6 week abortion ban. 3.) He royally pissed off and drove jobs away from the biggest $$ maker in his state and one of the biggest corporations on earth: Disney world. 4.) he has absolutely no charisma and has gone all in on culture wars that nobody that doesn’t live on the internet cares about. Trump won in 2016 because he leaned in to economic populism and pushing for america to stop offshoring jobs in the Midwest to China. It was all bullshit, but he at least pretended to care, Desantis entire campaign has been nothing more than “fighting woke”. 1

As someone who lives less than 20 min away from Disney World property, I can say MANY people around here are pissed the hell off with this scumbag.

I can’t say I don’t blame y’all for not showing up to vote for Charlie Christ, but man….am I upset with y’all (not you, just the residents of your state who let it get this bad. I have family in Fort Myers who’ve gone off the loony bin hardcore). A methed out pervert would still be better than what this psycho has brought upon y’all
RunUpDoneUp Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 LOSER! More craters than a reddit teen on picture day.
Bosque Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Not only is he extremely unlikeable, all his “famous” legislation like the ones against Disney and gender affirming care were extremely badly made. Any idiot could have told you immediately that both were unconstitutional. Good riddance, hope the Dems have a plan against Trump

A methed out pervert would still be better than what this psycho has brought upon y’all Trust me when I say that I’m just as disappointed in this state for voting in such a piss on into office. He’s making this state a living hell and aside from his psychotic behavior with LGBTQ+ and minority groups - home insurance, auto insurance, housing/renting costs are skyrocketing and instead he cares more about having a hissy fit with Disney of all people instead of focusing on the real issues in this state. It’ll only get worse now because he’s jerking off to the thought of presidential candidacy (which we all know he’ll fail miserably at)
