I know sampling is extremely common in hip hop obvi, but the way this album integrates samples feels lazy and uncreative—it's almost like they're  remixes or fanmade YouTube mashups 

 

Unlike Renaissamples and similar records that cleverly reference older tracks in fresh ways, this is just uninspired. The singing also doesn't work for the most part. Sorry Barbz.

If She rearranged the tracklist and actually had Barbie theme features like Doja in the first place I think the album would have been a lot better. I still enjoy it tho. Something like 

Barbie Dangerous intro leading into  Cowgirl Ft. doja or Ariana

It's sad that Doja x Nicki collab didn't happen, but on the other hand, Cowgirl doesn't suit Doja's current style at ALL so I'm even glad she passed on it

Honestly, not a Nicki fan at all but this album was really good. Some duds, but overall amazing. Would be a sweet like 16-track album.
