barbiegrande Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 (edited) Where do y’all find these homophobes? Maybe I’m privileged, but most people I know don’t really care or notice “Pride” month. They celebrate their gay friends for a day and move on. I also don’t go out of my way to look up reactions from homophobes on social media. This narrative that America has gotten more homophobic doesn’t ring true to me. People still feel much more accepting of queer people than they did in the past. Gay marriage was considered radical up until 2008, mind you. Edited June 5, 2023 by barbiegrande
UnusualBoy Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 I don't know if overwhelmed but I see more people complaining now than before tbh. But this whole thing of brand changing their logos and **** feel more performative than anything, not genuine...
DamianSolo Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 I never really cared about it, personally, but I'm happy for and do support those who take solace in it.
RunUpDoneUp Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 No. This is literally propaganda propped up by the rightwing media that permeates social media and television. No one cares about pride month but bigots and the lgbt. It's the same as it always is everytime. DO NOT LET PEOPLE WHO WANT YOU DEAD make you feel like something that doesn't involve them should be curtailed or ended.

People are only lashing out because they're realising LGBTQ+ people are becoming more accepted by society as a whole and they're feeling backed into a corner. Let them fume, they'll die soon enough This

Bussea Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 i haven’t been feeling pridish tbh i haven’t gotten my ass ate yet or went to an event
Horizon Flame Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 (edited) It’s oversaturated. This is corporate Pride. They have no real emotional investment in it and don’t know when to stop. It’s gimmicky. Even Saint Patrick’s Day is a pretty low-key affair now compared to Pride. Some shamrocks, a parade and some treats. Pride is just slapped onto everything. Even comic book companies change all of their titles to Pride stories and change the sexuality of the characters for Pride month. It’s OTT. Even gays are sick of it.
