I'm surprised that Taylor only sold around 20K cds from her Chicago concert last weekend... I expected more.

I can't say I'm surprised. Taylor kind of flopped with Hits Different and Snow on the Beach not making it to the Top 25. The musical landscape is so much different the last 3 months than in October-early March. During that period, albums were easily breaching 200k, 300k organically, and even during the Christmas season (Metro Boomin, SZA). Now, albums are struggling to even reach 150k organically.

Unless Taylor's fans really go out for it, do not expect Speak Now to do over 400k. The GP just isn't hungry for new music right now.

Makes sense... In my mind I picture all her hardcore fans buying it just to have it a tour souvenir (since those are only being sold at the show venues, and only to ticket holders...) But I guess if fans have already heard the new song on YouTube, and already have the standard edition, it makes no sense to buy it again.

The low(er than expected) CD sales could also be related to:

1. The insanely long merch lines - I was at MetLife night 1 and obviously wanted one, but I wasn't about to stand in an hours long merch line and I'm a hard core swiftie. I bet a lot of casuals aren't waiting around for that.

2. It went on her website digitally, so the people who were only in it for You're Losing Me got what they wanted.

Yeah I read that the lines to get it took hrs for some people. And like you said, most people got the song from the download version of the album she had on her website. Regardless, I'm quite content with how the album is doing.

So happy that Jelly Roll beat out Enhypen and Midnights for #3. Also great to see a diverse Top 10, instead of one totally dominated by Morgan and Taylor.

However, expect One Thing at a Time to return for a 13th week at #1, as there are no notable releases today.

Number #10 doing almost 50k, this has to be the most expensive Top 10 in a lot of time.

Flopped :skull: it added 20k to her sales. It was released digitally which is dumb of her, she should've kept it a tour exclusive for a while. And no she isn't doing 400k when her pre-orders were already above red tv. You can say people don't want new music (which is false, most of it is radio driven) but it's just delusional to think Taylor has been flopping with anything let alone speak now

Foo Fighters entering at #8 disappoints me. This is FFs 1st album with its new drummer and Rescued is #1 on Active Rock & Alt and T10 AAA.

This is hilarious. She's easily doing 400k just in the first day from pre-orders.
