But European cities are better than US ones, lol the sheer amount of cars alone

London, Amsterdam, Paris are also great, but they're just too huge and sometimes too crowded. Brussels has its charm but great and beautiful? never OT: Yes. Lisbon, Amsterdam, Prague, Budapest and Bratislava are a chef's kiss. Sofia, Zagreb and Bucharest too, if you're feeling more adventerous.
Selegend Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 To travel? Maybe, u do have a point cuz it is amazing but there's also other amazing places around the world. But to live there? I don't agree. I did a dreamlike 40 days eurotrip in 2019 and went to major cities like Rome, Lisbon, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Athens. And also smaller but turistic places like Mykonos (my fave), Ibiza, Amalfi Coast (so beautiful), Venice. And i gotta be really honest, i LOVED the smaller places but from the major cities the only one i would move myself to was Barcelona. i loved my trip tho and 100% recommend.
Cheers Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 only like Greece, Italia, and parts of Portugal and España. The rest are a NO!!!!!
Vrx. Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 No I’d argue that honestly Asian cities trample western cities with ease

Next!
Oktober Knight Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Absolutely. EU is so much better than the US in many many ways, look-wise
Mitsouko Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Europe washes US in every way. Every time I come back from Paris or London I get sad. It'll be worse this month when I finally see Geneva, Amsterdam, Ghent, Lyon... and then have to come back here.
Happylittlepunk Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Seoul and Tokyo are better imo. They did such a good job at mixing cultural historic places with modern architecture. Plus they look beautiful and clean. don’t get me wrong I love European cities but only the historic building look nice. Europe and US modern architecture looks so ugly.
ChandlerBing Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Yes. Barcelona, Paris, Amsterdam, Budapest, Madrid, Rome, Berlin... So iconic and full of non stop activities.
Zack Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 European and Asian cities are generally more interesting and dynamic. American cities tend to verge from okay to horrendous, with ugly tower blocks, gridlocked roads and terrible transportation.

I personally am not a fan of metropolises, places like NYC and London are fine you're just visiting for a few days but they must be a nightmare to live in, having to deal with all the crowds and chaos every single day of your life. If I had to single one European city out that would be Vienna - what. a. city. If only I spoke German I would definitely live there. So well organized, amazing architecture, tons of activities to do even in the winter (they have the best Christmas markets!), breathes culture, the cafe culture, the surroundings.
ninasayers Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 I think that what makes a city great is having a non-car centric approach, good public transport and a lot of green. Europe has a ton of cities like that, and they seem to be great. There are great cities all around the world though, so I don't know if it's fair to say they're the best; it's hard to determine that.
Orsay Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 (edited) There are some good cities in the states - San Francisco, DC, New Orleans, Boston, NYC, Chicago, Seattle, even Philadelphia all have a unique character as well as the history aspect. Then there are hideous cities like LA, San Jose, every Texan city, every Floridian city (besides maybe Miami), Phoenix, Vegas, etc. Unsurprisingly many of these uglier cities are newer and only really exploded in population post-WW2; for example San Francisco, not Los Angeles, was the biggest city in California for most of its early history For European cities, I've only been to Paris for a few days (trip got cut short due to my dad's health nosediving), but I absolutely loved it. I wouldn't be surprised if European cities are a lot cooler on average for the simple fact that they're older and were built before cars etc Edited June 1, 2023 by Orsay
Summerboy95 Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 (edited) LATAM cities are better, even more when you consider we do better with 1/20 of Europe's budget + Europe stole all our resources and development possibilities Edited June 1, 2023 by Summerboy95 1
