justin. Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 The opening scene was so brutal, no Hollywood studio would fund the movie, and Damien said it’s not even the “big kill” of the movie. He also said it’s going to be controversial. I’m assuming it’s the scene from the teaser and the little kid gets brutally killed.
X~MoviePoP Posted July 24 Posted July 24 How did a little 35 thousand dollar movie turn into this franchise

You know I'm not sure, I had heard about it through horror movie fans I follow but it wasn't until the second one where I felt some hype because there was the whole "a scene so gruesome you have to see it for yourself" type marketing and whatnot. That's when I watched the first one then saw the second.
ICLDXU4HS Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Looks iconic! Art has done it again, constantly raising the bar for misogyny in horror and doing it flawlessly!
MP3 Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Watching it in theatres will be something else, I've heard some people puked during the second one in cinemas

The first one premiered at the Telluride Horror Festival but a lot of its audience was built by word-of-mouth after its limited release. The years between the first and the second allowed it to build a presence within the horror fandom and the sequel broke out.
