Jotham Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 They're definitely respected in the Western world but as @Harrier previously pointed out, they still have a negative reputation among many countries in Asia because of their actions in WWII. It's improving in some countries like the Philippines, but even then there are a lot of people (especially the older generations) who still harbor negative attitudes toward them. I also know that the work culture there can be stressful and there is xenophobia toward foreigners (especially non-Western ones). I would say that the most respected in the world are either New Zealanders, Canadians, or Scandinavians.
theweekend Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 there are negative appointments to Japanese society as well as the others cited in the OP. I think the whole point of this ww view towards them is that they have built their companies under a must high-quality deliver/products/productivity which had led other to think they're reliable, long-lasting, quality things,... so we always think everything that comes from there are great. also their own culture that values a lot of communal/societal values otherwise what sometimes happens in western societies,... all in all they're great people as there are great people in every country.
