It's also interesting how a mediocre artist was able to win grammys off their first release, yet the grammys didn't nominate/award SZA, Summer Walker, and other talented black artists. B/c again, American organizations like the grammys (and others) prefer whiteness and are not meritocratic.

Strange take, considering Olivia is also a WOC.

OT: Excited for this! :duca:

that isn’t enough time for an album rollout :deadbanana2:

we wanted her to avoid HTE’s messy rollout, but a quick rollout isn’t going to benefit her either. so it’s probably just the lead single.

Why are you guys expecting the whole album on June 30th? Most likely the lead single and then the album probably 2 months later. I feel like the HTE rollout was messy because the song choices to promote the album were a choice but the album was way different and much more likable.

She's on Interscope, it can possibly happen. To be honest, I think she will be fine because the hype from the GP and stans is still there. So if y'all are worried about vinyls, we can get that later unless she wants it to count for sales.

the entire post above me being a lie from start to finish :ahh:

the fact that she is POC and sza won the same year liv won. is it crack :deadbanana4:

Olivia is part white (and she's white-passing) and is not a solely Filipino person. Her mother is white (w/ German/Irish ancestry).

SZA was snubbed for CTRL. Summer Walker has never been nominated for a grammy. Both are more talented than Olivia. Olivia is mediocre. The grammys are not meritocratic.

This is why I question the term POC b/c it muddles what it means to navigate life as a non-white-passing person. Olivia is part white (her mother is white w/ German/Irish ancestry) and beyond that Olivia is white-passing. Her lived experience is that of a white-passing/half white person.

And I also dislike how people use the term POC as a shield (especially for white-passing people).

Annouce the lead which is a Taylor diss track and released it on 7.7 to compete with Speak now TV lead.

A concept. Make pop culture exciting again

I feel like teasing a single a month in advance would kinda be odd no? This has to be for the album right?

I mean, she hasn't announced anything yet so it's not really a month in advance. It's the single for sure.

Oh wow. Can't wait for her to destroy us. :WAP:

I hope we get some Tori Amos and Fiona Apple influence on this project, Sour felt really rushed but she has a lot of potential

it's just that if your argument is that she won a grammy so quickly compared to her Disney ex-act peers, i would've gotten your bitterness. but she LOST the main categories to Silk Sonic & Jon Batiste, so blaming her for lack of diversity or Summer Walker not being nominated feels like such a reach projection. her winning POP category is equivalent of winning R&B category. btw i don't see SZA getting snubbed now. SOS is basically this years SOUR.

It's not like Olivia won over these artists? :skull: such an L take

Olivia isn't white passing though. Despite being mixed, she's pretty clearly not a white woman. So I hate that you're using trying to demean another WOC, who wasn't even nominated against Summer Walker and SZA (and lost all the main categories to black artists). If you don't think she's talented, or her music deserving of the awards, discuss that instead of trying to drag her into a race-baiting argument. Which I've seen you doing in multiple threads now. :skull:

SZA won a Grammy that same night. It's a wrong take all around.

It's crazy to read that user try to tell people if they're allowed to consider themselves POC or not, like wtf is that?

We aren't talking about some yt girl saying she's 0.01% native American, it's honestly a disgusting thing to say
