Do you only know music or do you know relevance comes from all social aspects? Musically she is not that relevant compares to Taylor, but she succeed in other areas that Taylor just don't, if you think Gaga is not relevant in pop culture or just culture in general, you must be delusional. OT: The question is who has the bigger peak, anyone who lived through 09-11 knows how big she was, I don't know why swifties keep mentioning multiple albums charting like it's a definitive proof that it's the biggest achievement ever. From my perspective, Gaga in TF/M was so big that almost everyone I know in my life knew her, from my grandma to my middle school classmates, mind you I lived in a countryside of conservative China during that time, that alone could tell you how far her name spread. I remembered all the middle schoolers used ''oh my gaga'' instead of ''oh my god'' as a catch phrase. Her songs was played everyday in my school radio station. 1

But WW, Gaga is definitely bigger. I agree with this. Taylor never had the same global peak as Gaga. It doesn't help that Taylor peaked in different regions at different eras like Midnights being her biggest in mainland Europe but no as big as 1989 in anglo countries for example.
Jjang Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Gaga had a bigger peak. So did other stars like Britney. Taylor’s consistency clears them with ease however. 1

What's gonna happen now is that we are gonna use facts and reality to prove it's Taylor. Then they are gonna cry about how "stats obsessed" we are while moaning about "IMPACT!" "Iconic!" etc and use some elusive European country to prove how "big" Gaga is *to them*. Tales as old as time. 1
Sannie Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 I think in terms of success it is Taylor. In terms of overall impact/global hold, it is Gaga. It has been over a decade so it is hard to remember, but the hold Gaga had on the entire world at her peak was unmatched by anyone in the past nearly thirty years. Both Queens in 2023. Both living their best lives.

greento Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Gaga has never been as big as Taylor is right now. 1989 era Taylor was basically equivalent to TFM Gaga as well

blackoutbritney Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 I’m a little monster and hate Taylor Swift and even I can agree that Taylor is leaps and bounds the bigger peak. She has a bigger peak than most artists make or female
UnusualBoy Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Gaga’s peak 2009-2011 is almost untouchable so her.
FightDragonsWithMe Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 (edited) The difference between Taylor & Gaga is Taylor isn't tied down to one peak. Y'all trying to make that out as a bad thing are weird Edited May 21, 2023 by FightDragonsWithMe
dejmieeen Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Obviously Gaga. She was IT GIRL in 2008-2010, Taylor never touched her peak, even tho her longevity is insane.

And then the album was sold for the price of a pack of gum yet 0 of them are bigger than most Taylor eras can you please explain why? 1 1
