Not our problem. Some Gen Alpha baby is going to find a solution 30-40 years from now. :giraffe:

I think Mexico City sinks at a faster rate. Try to keep up, Miss NY.

1mm per year, so 1 metre in.... 1000 years :skull:

If humanity even survives that long, this won’t be a problem :bird:

We’ll be extinct before this becomes an issue

There are more pressing issues than this. Does New York City have the infrastructure to withstand a Category 5 hurricane? With the changes in weather patterns and intensity, it's a very realistic thing to ponder.

my hometown? yeah no, there's many reasons I left that damn place. could NEVER be the cultural epicenter like New York is tbh...

(not to say that I despise it or anything, but it's way more introverted culturally than any of the other major cities i've ever been to. I have a really complicated relationship with it as an adult tbh. it's a melting pot, sure, which I adore! and I appreciate my parents for thinking it was a good place to raise my four siblings and I, but it's got no iconic fashion, cinematic, theatrical, or mainstream musical fixtures. it's also arguably the world capital of stress, growing up in DC and MoCo was... it's simply the most competitive place in the US for young kids to grow up in. I sometimes think about how there was preternatural pressure on being bilingual, talented in a musical field, talented in an athletic field, verbally mature at a ridiculously young age, and exceptional academically. it's SUCH a success-over-everything-else-driven place, my mom was talking about me going to college and being super successful by the time I started elementary school. I think that's why I've always related to songwriters like Marina and Fiona Apple who sing about that kind of thing lol)

true. DC is basically an experiment of what happens when u take a bunch of self involved, self important, power & money hungry people and put them in one environment but it is the capital of the US so if our girl NYC loses it, DC seems like the next viable option.

That, I'm not sure of. If so, though, would that be enough?
