He went to the January 6 protests, caused a lot of controversy and got dropped by his label (around that time some allegations of domestic violence came up too iirc), literally cried on Tucker Carlson's show about being cancelled, republicans briefly supported him for a day or two, he attempted a comeback, flopped really bad and wasn't even able to officially release the album he wanted to put out.

Since they've done 1 single per month, the "What Not To Do" remix was the choice for August and the album comes out one week into September so there is unlikely to be another single. Free Will might get a remix release but we know for sure that The House has a Ruf Dug remix courtesy of Boiler Room. There might be a whole Hit Parade remix compilation, but more likely she could just drop a few as singles releases to try to keep the interest going after the release.  

 

She's seriously under the gun right now though, the fact that there is an album coming out in 12 days and she's opted for a half-week social media silence to avoid discussing the puberty blockers backlash. Things have become so out of hand because of the delay in making a statement distancing herself from full blown transphobia, it has really overshadowed the release. I am sure all the critic reviews of the album will talk about it if she doesn't deliver something satisfying before then.

If Ninja Tune told her to stay totally silent until the reviews came out so as to not draw more attention to it...

 

I know for sure she won't be getting Pitchfork BNM as she would've otherwise, given how online they are tho there's no chance they don't bring it up.

Yeah BNM is out of question but I'd assume that the review has been written already and they'll just get a disclaimer of sorts

It's really unfortunate that this came out right before the album release. Hadn't she been in the middle of an album rollout, she would've been able to act fast and get out of this, like slayyyter did for example

I mean we can hope but idk..  She's already surprised me with the past week's silence, even if she did have covid like Aunt Linda said. 

 

Another really weird occurrence is that at Connect festival in Edinburgh she performed in a boring ass black and white suit and ONLY used her black accessories. All her other Hit Parade shows have had the rainbow dress (  in hindsight) the metallic blue one, the pink floral head dress & blue cone hat. Something ain't right.

Oh they're separate things I think, her aunt was posting on a fan FB group that she was ill for 2 weeks and hasn't been on her phone much. 

But I don't think it's true because she performed in Edinburgh on the 26th, wearing all black only.   I haven't seen any videos to see/hear if she was full strength or even in any type of mood. I've seen her account showing online on both Instagram & Discord, but not sure if her assistant/manager uses them since they are official accounts.

The last slither of hope I have remaining is that Grahame Linehan deleted his tweet asking his nutjob followers to support and defend her. Hopefully her or team contacted him to let him know he wasn't welcome. Damage is very much done though and a statement directly from her opposing it would've done wonders more for stopping the mess and hopefully deterring the terfs from polluting her fan circles & social media.

I'm gonna have a listen on release date, then decide if I like the whole album and buy the Deluxe version on vinyl. Depends on how she's approaching this until album release though. Not sure if I'm gonna support her after that, like I said, let's wait for a reaction...

Took all of the singles off my daily playlist and honestly won’t even listen to the album at this point probably. I’m afraid I’ll like it too much  

 

I just got into rosin like 6 months ago tho, I feel bad for her longtime fans

You Knew is one of the best songs of the year for me ( so far ), so I will definitely be streaming the album on release day ( weekend after that ).

I mean, it will probably be her best body of work. I think it should get praise it deserves because it's a collab album with DJ Koze. He did nothing wrong and that's his album too so I will be streaming for him I guess
