BlackoutZone Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 This is really great, but glad the album profit is gonna be donated and I hope the rotten terf croaks soon 6 1 1 1 7
The7thStranger Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 I've previewed a few songs, and I don't get it. I knew when she first announced this album that she was going to run back to that Hairless/Monto style where the songs are almost shapeless. I think I'm content with the fact that she gave us one stellar record (Ruby Blue), and it's been diminishing returns ever since.

I’m yet to listen to the album (my vinyl is arriving later today), but I thought CooCool, The Universe, and Fader were all very straightforward and pop-leaning for Róisín’s standards? Either way Hairless Toys is my favourite project from her by far, so if this is any similar I’m sure it will be excellent in my books. 1
sad girl Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 I listened to the album out of curiosity. Glad the profits are going to tackle transphobia. The album is great but that rotted slag can croak. 2 7

She won't get even a cent from me - and I'll live very happily never listening to this album 1 1 3
Janet Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 And if you are a fan, I sincerely hope you can get your hands on a copy of the physical release, as it will doubtless become scarce, and like many of my other records, very collectible. Why she say that?

Mitsouko Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Free Will best song by light years. Roisin Machine gobbles this up tho. Back to listening to The Love Invention I go!
Janet Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Anyone know where to find the 12" edit of Can't Replicate?

shyboi Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Finally. I will take a shower while giving this a listen. Let's see if there's surprises because what i heard so far was very one dimensional. 1

shyboi Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 oh wow, oh wow, What Not To Do is such an atmospheric, sexy, dark intro, perfect album opener. Very Bjork! Love it! Perchedt for the rest
Antisocialites Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 damn this was very mediocre. first half is boring, second half is fine but her voice in this is so grating and most of the times there's a clear dissociation between whatever is going on with her vocals and the production. I'm glad I didn't like this.
shookspeare Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 pitchfork leaving her out of their 10 albums you should listen to this week list 3
shyboi Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 I'm sorry but CooCool is such an ugly song and it totally ruins the momentum the opener built 1

They were giving her a 8.5+ review easily.
ThehushSound Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Tried to listen to the album last night but just wasn’t in the headspace for it. My pink copy of the album shipped (I forgot I ordered it, at least I’m supporting a indie record shop). I’ll probably eventually listen in full once the vinyl arrives so I don’t put even a half cent in her or her labels pockets. I will also only listen to her music on the vinyls I have (no more purchases) here on out. 1 3
