The first sign of life for Florida Democrats since….Obama won in 2012? When a $15 minimum wage cleared the 60% threshold in 2020?

This is good for Jacksonville but I don't think it means much overall... Deegan is a local celebrity who spent decades as a news anchor and organizes an annual marathon to fight breast cancer. The Republican opponent (Davis) was basically missing the entire time. 

 

Hopefully this means Democrats have a fighting chance in Florida in 2024 but I wouldn't hold my breath tbh.

Democrats don’t have a chance in Florida in 24, but still…..Duval county is a bellwether county and she was still out raised by millions, and she won. 
 

But I do blame the GOP candidate being pretty weak. The most consequential pre 2024 election already happened last month, and that was the Wisconsin Supreme Court race which the Dems won by 11 points

So this is a Mark Kelly celebrity candidacy that doesn't actually indicate any ideological shift.
