I really dont get hows their touring number is that huge and clearly they have a huge huge fa base but how can their new music flop so hard.

Like with that type of fa base at least they can get a cute top 10 debut for single and decent album sales.

In my country most of people who watch the Coldplay concerts are GP’s (including local influencers, celebs ect just for a content in social media:rip:)

GP’s in my country loves Coldplay old song (like Fix You, Yellow, Viva Lavida etc)

but they don’t checked Coldplay latest song :rip:

maybe some of them only know My Universe / Something Just Like This & Hymn For the Weekend as the latest song from Coldplay since Viva Lavida

They are a great live band and their concerts are really a spectacle, so that doesn't surprise me :clap3:

Also they have a catalogue full of classics.

Believe it or not, this is actually the norm. Most successful acts develop a core catalog that resonates with fans, who prefer to listen to that core catalog, diluting interest in new content they release. The Rolling Stones (most successful touring act of all time) are a great example. Someone like Taylor is an aberration.

It looks like reported gross is around $400M so far. A long way to go, but there are a lot of big dates left.

If my estimations are correct, they will be at $700M by the end of this year. All the band have to do is continue into 2024 and the first $1B tour is theirs.

Will be interesting to see. By end of this year, they'll have done all the continents they normally tour, plus 2 legs for each NA and Europe.

I'm hoping they get that $1B gross. They deserve it.
