VeniceBeach Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Tali is better than Krick, so I'm not surprised that she won, welcome back Luxembourg Anyway, Bashar Murad's (a Palestinian who wants to represent Iceland) song in English is good, maybe not winner material, but it will go in my playlist
ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted January 28 ATRL Moderator Posted January 28 Maybe Israel and Luxembourg voters will cancel each other out at the main contest
igninton Posted January 28 Posted January 28 There is no way Israel will make it to May. Y'all know it, I know it. The EBU is waiting on them to withdraw and/or to ban them themselves - the second they realise the incoming mess in the arena if there are israeli flags in the crowd or during the results....it's over. Of course the EBU has everything to lose and Kan has everything to win so I don't see any backing down anytime soon... 1

First the artists being assigned new songs from Eurovision writing camps instead of the ones they submitted themselves (when the delegation was very clear about wanting to honour Luxembourgish talent at first) and then an Israeli production company suddenly taking over the entire thing just a few weeks ago... it all just feels fishy to me The production company was messy but afaik they were signed on to do this NF even before October of last year.
Mellark Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Haven't followed this year as much, but every time it's in Sweden, the contest always delivers and we always get good songs. 2013 and 2016 delivered. Hyped for Melodifestivalen next week, I am surprised Andra Chansen isn't a thing anymore but we will see. In regards to the elephant of the room, if they are in the contest in May, all hell will break loose. The Portuguese public should choose this. Saudade, Saudade was my favorite in 2022. On 1/24/2024 at 12:34 PM, anti-***** said: Wait! Malta!! Sarah Bonnici - Loop Malta national final will be in a couple of weeks Just as long as she doesn't get Aidan-ed then we will be fine.
abelfenty Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Fighter is great and it was by far the best song in Luxembourg’s NF. Tali’s performance was really solid as well. My top 6: 1. Luxembourg 2. France 3. Czechia 4. Slovenia 5. Ireland 6. Albania
Pendulum Posted January 28 Posted January 28 The Luxembourgish lyrics are very subtly IDF-coded. Almost as if the songwriting camp intended it for her.

Komet Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I'm not blown away by any of the songs so far, but my current ranking is: 1. Luxembourg - it's a cute bop, but nothing groundbreaking. Wouldn't skip it on a playlist ig 2. - 3. France / Slovenia - both are well done for what they are, but not my cup of tea. France tries too hard to be emotional and yet I feel nothing, and Slovenia is a hookless collection of verses. I expect they'll be better live. 4. Albania - this is certainly an albanian Eurovision entry 5. Czechia - basic, generic, forgettable. Iirc there's a revamp coming, luckily. 6. Ireland - borders on unlistenable, first obvious NQ of the season. An easy instant skip. 1
Thin White Duke Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Luxembourg choosing that faceless boring song they didn't have a lot of other good options but damn Thankfully Ireland and Slovenia exist and are keeping my hope up that this will be a good year.

Solaria Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Tali Eshkoli using Luxembourg as a satellite state for Israel is so morally corrupt.. hate what this Eurovision year is becoming.
Beautiful Garbage Posted January 28 Posted January 28 So far my top goes: 1. Ireland 2. Czech Republic 3. Slovenia then we go downhill… 4. Alabania 5. Luxembourg 6. France I think Ireland will easily sail through the final. She’s giving me Lordi teas. 1
