anti-bitch Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I've seen people say that "The Code" sounds better the more you listen to it. So "Europapa" might get challenged in streaming for a while still And Joost has been getting almost more media coverage than Nemo in the past few days, making people check out his song

We as LGBTQ community are constantly portrayed in media with extremes. You hardly see LGBTQ professionals, hard working entrepreneurs living "regular" life with long time partner, you see more of sex*alized type of relationships, same with overly feminine almost caricature-esque portrait of Gay men in media etc. I feel like constant showing of extremes like for example Sam Smith and their nudity and also crazy styling of Nemo etc. is bringing bad light on a community so people take us as some kind of weirdos. Please stop caring about what other people think, especially those who hate queer people anyway And any piece of clothing is just that in the end. Some fabric that we assign to people based on their gender. Why is it ok for women to wear pants but not for men to wear a skirt? Nemo's styling might be strange but that doesn't mean it's wrong 3

igninton Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Some members showing their true colours but then getting mad when called fascist, make it make sense? 1

Komet Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Forever is a bop but that performance was BAD Visually stunning but it got stale after minute and a half, and then it just went on and on, and then Tattoo started and it was the same thing and she was just grunting in the mic at that point, like... did they put this together at the last minute 6 2

gimmelaugh Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I really don't care about stuff like this but I actually think Nemo was representing the tasteful gays this year Like yeah the outfit was goofy but it wasn't the main thing about his performance. Impressive staging and good vocals were. The "extreme" gay representative this year was actually Olly and, again, I don't think there was anything bad about his performance, I ]liked the idea and the dancers but unfortunately Olly himself couldn't sell it and didn't defend it with his vocals which were just bad. And then he ended up with 0 points from the public I'm still so shocked about his whole Eurovision run but I hope the mean comments don't get to him and I really wish him well. It all was just so unfortunate. 1

Stagging could have been improved ofc. Nah, staging was flawless! People/Jury were just tasteless. Edited May 15 by elvenOCEAN
anti-bitch Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Nemo's latest Instagram story (nemothings) shows them in a studio already. I'm curious to hear what they make next
anti-bitch Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Lol yeah. Only Nemo can challenge Joost And Joost might have won the public vote, but not the juries So Nemo could have won anyway, especially when you think Netherlands and Croatia splitting the public vote
Fevesy Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I'm curious to hear the rest of the Baby Lasagna tracks if Rim Tim Tagi Dim is allegedly "filler" Nemo is a very talented musician but idk what their direction will be. I can see it being all over the place, ironically like The Code. They need to hit the ground running asap to maintain momentum and develop a niche but loyal fanbase.

Judging by Nemo's recent discography, their songs are very "Spotify chill indie playlist" vibes The Code is probably a fluke Their straight era was a serve though Edited May 15 by illia

bluceleste Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Question: When Joost got disqualified, would it have been possible for a backup singer from the dutch delegation to step in and perform the song in his place? Must the artist perform the song? I'm not really invested in who should've won between Croatia and Switzerland as I'm not a big fan of either song. However, I'm glad someone from a country that hasn't won in a long time took home the victory. The jury does not seem to be big fans of rock. Zitti e Buoni, the winning song of 2021, placed at fourth place in the jury's rankings. I felt so bad for Olly. His vocals were not great, but that wasn't a zero point song or performance. Where was the British diaspora? At least he didn't finish last. The biggest crime of the night was the lack of points the mega bop Luktelk received from the jury and the public. It should've been in the top 5. After getting booed by some in the audience, it must have been an amazing moment for Eden when she received her massive audience points in support of her performing at Eurovision. The EBU must thank their lucky stars that they didn't comply with viewer requests of only having audience points in the final. Could you imagine the reaction of that audience, if they had to sit through one 12 points reveal after another to Israel? I found the ABBA tribute a bit lackluster. I was expecting a medley of songs performed by various Eurovision and Swedish artists.

They should put their cover out of Theresa & Maria on Spotify though, that was a bop.

And Nemo said in the press conference after the final that the making of The Code changed something in them and now they wanna write more about their story. "I hope I can continue this process and be daring in my songs, for myself" Nemo said
