ZIVERT Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Raiven is coming for top 10, she has a PhD in mothering
Pendulum Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Well, the Joost saga is over but the damage is already done and a certain somebody will get away with it
Pendulum Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Raiven doesn't seem to be serving what eurofans are making it to be. Boring.
abelfenty Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Thank you Czechia for actually picking the only good song in your selection
Anthinos Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 (edited) I don't like her song and thought her performance was bad. Mydy or Elly would have been better in my opinion. I think Czechia will have a hard time this year. Edited December 13, 2023 by Anthinos
Hurem Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Let's not forget Czechia doesn't have good in-house production, so all performances initially look rough - even Vesna last year was concerning. I am not afraid about them at the ESC though, they will come through
illia Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 (edited) The wild card songs for Vidbir (Ukraine) got released. One of them will be chosen as the 11th finalist Links: Spoiler Julia Belei withdrew for personal reasons (fun fact: her song was made by the Israeli writing camp that wrote Noa Kirel's Unicorn) Edited December 13, 2023 by illia

I don't know if the Icelandic NS songs are already in but I can see a scenario where songwriters and performers would refuse to participate which could lower the level of the NS, thus force Iceland to evaluate their stance. Iceland's radio silence is what's surprising me the most. They were vocal about a boycott in 2019. And we know what Hatari did during the voting sequence. Legends! Different scenarios: 1. 2019 was right before the TikTok era and Eurovision has much more social media pull now than it did then, so any country will probably think about the amount of publicity they could get from the contest 2. The contest is held in Sweden this time and Iceland and Sweden have good diplomatic relations, if they pulled out (especially with the recent image of Sweden basically being this vigilant watch dog) that could sour things for them
Pendulum Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 (edited) She's literally Russian?? How dare she even participate in the NS? All Russian artist should be ostracised from art spaces. DISQUALIFICATION AND DEPORTATION NOW! /jk Edited December 13, 2023 by Pendulum
Pendulum Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 I'm sorry but this is too funny people are ******* weird

DISQUALIFICATION AND DEPORTATION NOW! /jk The posts about the Kremlin rigging an Eurovision NF like Russia might be a lot of things but I doubt rigging a national final for Eurovision is gonna be on the top of their lists of priorities Although the breakdown of votes is 70% International/30% Czech and it's kinda of a kii, her being dead last in Czechia https://www.instagram.com/p/C0ycz4fNP_3/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=e081d3c1-f0a7-4e90-9675-98f307106f5d
Funhouse Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 The spirit of AzerBUYjan possessed some of the Czech artists I fear, these numbers are NOT adding up

The voting is weird. 70% international and only 30% national? Elly won the national vote I demand a recount but without the fake international votes
ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted December 13, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted December 13, 2023 Czechia serving NQ, I can’t believe Aiko won after that horrendous performance.

Oh, they had no competition, but their performance couldn’t be more low budget then it was. I don’t think anyone thought they would have such good staging in the end.

That’s a far cry from Aiko who flopped incredibly in her performance
ZIVERT Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 On the bright side, now everyone concern trolling about re-inviting Russia can rest easy knowing there is a Russian artist with dubious background participating. Russian culture is still well represented this year after all

Maybe St. Pedro as well, if he can have an "Amar pelos dois" moment". The rest are weak or tacky. And I don't get the hype around Almacor at all, it's just an average urban song, pretty forgettable, and highly autotuned (guess the live it's gonna be a mess). Someone please explain to me why it's getting hype.
Pendulum Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 The theme art is the final nail in the coffin for this circus of a contest

I must admit, Ukrainian fans tears are delicious mmm. And btw, AIKO's song sucks big time. We been knew Russians cannot make good music.
JennyWayne Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 Between the ugly branding, lazy re-used slogan and Israeli participation I just can't get excited about this year. Maybe it's because I'm getting older but after 2022 and 2023 (which I found to be pretty mid years) and this whole ordeal this year I feel like I'm growing our of Eurovision. **** just hasn't been hitting as hard as it used to between 2016 and 2021
