How tone-deaf do you have to be to describe a situation where 2.2 million people are right now in an open-air prison, getting bombed daily, barely getting food resources and aid is barely creeping through and describe it as the 'next trend'?

You’ve twisted what I said. I didn’t call the situation a trend. I called the people boycotting everything a trend. Big difference.

Laughing out loud at the people in here “boycotting.”

Isrsel have been in the competition for decades while being in conflict with Palestine. Why are you only now just deciding to boycott?

I’m sure I’ll see you in here next May when social media has moved on to the next trend

Disgusting post not worthy of any attention at all.

Even beyond Eurovision, KAN should be suspended from the EBU for the propaganda they've been spreading

Exactly. The Belarusian broadcaster BTRC is currently sitting out a 3 year suspension because the Belarusian government basically turned it into a propaganda mouthpiece and I don't see how this is any different. Why does the EBU even have any rules and standards about journalistic independence and accountability if they won't hold their member broadcasters to those rules?

It would even be the 'safe' way to get Israel out of the contest because the Eurovision reference group wouldn't have to pick any sides (even though they should, but they won't). They can just let the EBU pin it on journalistic integrity, especially because there is already precedent of the EBU expressing concern over KAN's independence.

Disgusting decision by the EBU.

Eurovision 2024 will be a mess. I hope other delegations and ESC fans will show their support for Palestine. Let EBU be uncomfortable.

Maria's song is okay. I don't see her winning the NF with this song. I would have preferred a bop like:

I was so hooked on this when she was announced.

I don't get why she didn't send this because it had so many layers and potential.

Why are the Ukrainian users in here so quiet about Israel's participation when they would've screamed at top of their lungs in 2022?

Likely because Israel is supporting Ukraine while Palestine is sided with Russia, and Hamas called for rape & deportation of Ukrainians on live TV?

And just maybe because russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, which was a bigger priority for us, you know, that might be the reason

The real question is why you’re here perched for god knows what in this thread when you’re supposedly boycotting

Well that's just hypocrisy, isn't it? The way Ukraine singlehandedly has ruined Eurovision in the past two years is a topic that needs to be discussed more.

The meltdowns every year from you over Ukraine continue to deliver, even as you’re “boycotting.” Bravo :clap3:

You call it meltdowns, I call it standing for what is right and this is giving the ultimate hypocrosy, not only from the EBU and the Western world, but from you as well for failing to sympathise with people that are currently suffering at the hands of another country. It reminds me of something, doesn't it? So sorry for thinking that after being handed a with a pity win for a song that is the sonic manifestation of diarrhoea and hijacking the 2023 contest, it's your duty as a Ukrainian eurofan to call out the hypocrisy of the EBU considering Palestine is in the same situation as Ukraine was last year. It's really not that difficult to condemn the killings of innocent civilians but after seeing your pro-Zionism posts, I doubt it would get through your thick skull. Not surprised though, last time I checked on Eurotwitter, Ukrainian fans were having meltdowns over Russian songs going viral on tiktok, Russian artists participating in other National Selections, and well.. wishing some pretty heinous stuff on regular Russian folk.

And miss me with that b-b-b-but Ukraine supports Israel and Russia supports Palestine thing as if this is a siding with your friends moment. I'm sure the Nazis were bopping to Noa's Kirel yassss!  :suburban:

You know, I wanted to write something shady about Bulgaria and their participation in Eurovision, and we all know there is a lot of material to do it easily, but my heart is pure :heart2: Imagine being a pro-Russian ***, trying to learn Russian and still having the audacity to say something to Ukrainians, they don't owe you anything, dear

Imagine condensing everything I've said in the previous page as pro-Russian when my ATRL post history says otherwise. Or the fact that my homecountry (since you mentioned it) has been routinely messed up by Russia and the Soviets throughout history. You have no idea how much I despise the Russian state and what it stands for. But me having a slight disagreement with a Ukrainian (or with how Ukraine is handling things currently) is not pro-Russia. Grow up. It's just that my heart is pure and when I see hypocrisy and fakeness, I call it out! :heart2:

Oh and my Russian is rusty as hell, I don't use that ugly language anymore. Anyway, boycott Eurovision for allowing a genocidal state to participate <3

OT: Be My Guest was mega bop
