ZIVERT Posted May 8 Posted May 8 So happy for Tali, Raiven, and Teya Dora But so SAD that Australia didn't qualify - I was so impressed watching their performance. It felt like pure joy, a celebration of life and of culture. They totally deserved to qualify over countries like Finland. I'm also sad for Luna bc I love her and her music, but I kind of saw this coming while watching her perform live... Anyways, looking forward to petty Poles to redirect their anger from Jerry Heil to Serbia after that blatantly disrespectful broadcast interruption. At the very least, the EBU should fine Serbia for that, and I hope Poland takes their pettiness to levels and this causes a diplomatic spat! 1
chessguy99 Posted May 8 Posted May 8 (edited) Just finished watching a full replay of the show. First thought is, I regret picking Germany for last place. The guy is good, they staged well, it will probably be mid-table with the jury. Second, Australia got screwed. I honestly think with an all televote semifinal system, the next Australian act to qualify will be top three in the final, probably win. Finally, I change my mind, Portugal will top the jury vote in the final. Edited May 8 by chessguy99
ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted May 8 ATRL Moderator Posted May 8 Finally home from work and able to collect more thoughts on the semi today It is SO EXCITING to see Ireland and Croatia, two countries that have not been that successful recently, be the two acts everyone is talking about! I keep rewatching Bambie's reaction to qualifying too, so heartwarming I feel really bad for Australia but that song was such a letdown. 2000 and Whatever was a fantastic song and I had been wanting Electric Fields on the contest since then, it's a shame that it turned out the way that it did. I am not surprised about Poland not qualifying. The stage performance really detracted from the song. Justyna would have been a smart choice to go with as she's a proven performer and can handle Eurovision pressure, and to me it just seems Luna got too caught up and carried away. Slovenia did surprise me. I thought it was NQing for a long time, but the performance tonight was really good. The smoke on the ground added a lot to it, and she really emoted so much throughout the song. I am living in a world where Portugal is the jury winner. I think it stands above France and Italy in the artistry it shows. It truly is excellent, and I wouldn't be surprised if they got another Saudade Saudade result on Saturday.
PaloSanto Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Finally being able to watch SF1 in full and maybe going blind wasnt the best idea. A lot of strong entries this year. Lowkey nervous some of the ones Im liking wont qualify 🥲 1

Mordecai Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Portugal as jury winner and Ireland as televote winner? Have you guys forgotten this is the WEAK semi final, most of the televote magnets are coming to sweep on Thursday 1 hour ago, Lightbringer007 said: Yall ... So... It's anyone's game tbh... This year could win anyone
blown away Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Overall it was a good show, biggest shock of the night was Poland not qualifying. Especially in a televote only final. Spoiler The opening act was fire, loved it. Also loved the stage and the camera work. The postcards were nice as well. I wasn't feeling Benjamin's act unfortunately. The biggest serves were Ireland and Ukraine, hands down. I don't like Doomsday Blue, but the performance was amazing. Hopefully this encourages Ireland to send quality performances again and stay away from the hag radio fodder. Ukraine was also very well produced and The ending scene with Jerry and Alyona on the ground had me GAGGED. Best moment of the night for me. Croatia was great too, Slovenia and Serbia were nice. Lithuania was good as well as Luxembourg. Poland was okay, but not very strong. Portugal was clean and had good vocals, but I missed something. Sweden has a visually pleasing stage, but it doesn't ignite anything whatsoever. If it weren't for the juries in the final they would be on the second half of the scoreboard. They should've went with Jacqline instead. UK was quite questionable. The vocal cords weren't working and the performance was a bit... much. It gave me Do What U Want at SNL vibes of raunchiness. Cyprus and Moldova gave us nothing, just great LEDs beautiful LEDs. Iceland didn't even give that and Azerbaijan gave even less, what on earth was that performance? Nothing was going on there, a total snoozefest. Germany also gave us nothing, coming for last place in the final again. Australia wasn't good, neither the song not the performance. Not even a didgeridoo gimmick could save it. Finland was horrible all over the place, I hated every second of it. Looking forward to the second semi final, it's going to be a bloodbath.
nasa Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Portugal could very much end up in the Jury top 5 – they do love them some Portugal. Televote won't support the song though so I'd say left side close to top 10.
OnlyManInTheWorld Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Portugal as usual - big jury support and flop in televote.

I hope she proves me wrong 2

Komet Posted May 8 Posted May 8 LUVed the Baby Lasagna concert last night, the opening acts were cute too 1
shark_heather Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I just want to say that Eleni ATE the entire Eurovision I still can't believe Netta won 1
Konril Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Poland continuing to be the meme country of Eurovision. A mess, a kii, a cackle.

Komet Posted May 8 Posted May 8 croslaytia/sLUVenia/servia all in the finale second time in a row, who's doing it like us
POPTART Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Croatia is coming to sweep the televote. The only performance that feels like a concert rather than a music video on stage, so it stands out. I'm happy for Serbia and Slovenia I think my only miss was Poland in this one. 1
BOOM! Posted May 8 Posted May 8 My biggest wish for SF2 is for Malta to qualify. I am not the biggest fan of the song and i hated it at first, but she deserves to qualify. Hopefully both Malta and Georgia go to the finals. 3
