With Kosovo most likely joining the the Council of Europe in 11 days and thus being eligible for EBU membership, it seems like we're going to get a debut next year

Serbia will probably pull out then

Not to start a whole thing in here and I'm sure it's been addressed previously but what do you think the odds are of an Israel NQ? From a musical point of view I think Hurricane is one of the weaker entries they've given in the last few years and I actually think there's 10 songs in SF2 I can see qualifying over it. There's 5 for definite anyway. I think if it qualifies it'll be closer to the bottom of the top 10.

Zionists and annoying contrarians are going to be VERY motivated to vote for it I fear. I actually think it's way more likely to qualify this year than it would have in any other year and it has nothing to do with the quality of the song (or lack thereof). No matter how controversial Israel's participation is this year, you can't vote against a song and with the semi-finals being televote only there's nothing the juries can do about it either.

I agree that there are at least 10 songs more worthy of qualification, but it won't matter at all.

There is still quite a lot of support for Israel, and since televoters can't vote against a country I'm pretty sure Israel is a 100% lock to qualify for the final.

I'm interested in seeing how many jurors will publicly vote for Israel in the final. The backlash is gonna be huge if it finishes anywhere near the top (or god forbid it wins :skull:)

It's for sure qualifying imo. Israel is basically starting with 12 points already because of the ROTW vote if we are being real. They won the 12 from ROTW last year in SF1 and GF, beating Finland both times. They just need a few votes from passionate Israel supporters in a few countries and it's a wrap.

Germans will vote massively in favour of Israel, regardless of the quality of the song. Just as they do when it comes to supporting Israel politics.

Israel is very likely going to the final, unfortunately.

don't worry, germany won't vote in S2. they'll get enough points to qualify anyway.

in  he final i'm scarred that the obsessive supporters will mass vote for them and get them much too close to the top.

i'm actually not so sure about if jury's will try to rank them low. i can see that there'll be some jurors who want to see them on top and will try to influence the other jurors to place it in the top 3 top 10, it's not like we haven't seen that behaviour before where one juror influences the entire score with their agenda.

Because why should we care about the tops of the Eurovision bubble? It's not even the whole Eurovision bubble but a small "elite" within it

ESC gays hating on Slimane is giving me 2023 flashbacks to when they were hating on Marco Mengoni and he ended up 4th :rip: Why do gays have such poor taste? :'(

dddd I love the studio version of Mon amour and the ESC twitter lot are delusional to think that he isn't finishing in the top 5, especially if the pull off that mic thing, it's the perfect jury + televote magnet. I just hope they don't make that part English, it's way better fully in French. :rip:
