Now that we're in a private space I can say that I also met Marina Satti.. It was outside of the venue she was supposed to perform hours later and when I went to greet her she called me the f-slur and told that I'm not important enough to shake her hand.. :rip:

Croatian fans are a tad too delusional and they’re in for severe meltdowns. From what I’m hearing, Baby Lasagna didn’t take this seriously enough, and he’s relying too much on being a favorite in the odds. There’s still a lot of time until the rehearsals in Malmö, but at the moment it is far from the winning performance.

the fact that EBU didnt change at all the voting system and it is still 50% jury and 50% televoting. Embarassing. They should have changed it to at least 60:40 (in favour of televoting).

Juries are important and are not supposed to vote the same as the public.

They just need to have better jury regulations that vote based on pre-said rules. Ones that actually do it this time around.

Having 100% televote or even 60/40 would result in an absolute mess of entries with no actual diversity imo

Even the 100% semi televote is pushing it

I remember reading or seeing a pic of the rehearsal and it looked to be the exact same as the Dora staging so this doesn’t surprise me.

I’n not sure on timelines but by this point some things regarding the performance have to be locked in and “submitted” already right? I watched an interview with Kaleen and she said something about deadlines in March regarding the staging

They can still make some changes in Malmo. The videos that they all send are just an overview of the staging and what they can expect in Malmo (in terms of number of people, props etc).

Croatia being high in the odds is soooo perplexing?? :deadbanana2: The only people who are stanning are Croats and the uwu smol bean teenage girl demographic (Joker Out stans). The song is literal dogshit and you can immediately clock that it was made in GarageBand or whatever. It's just cheap sounding. This is not the X Factor and this story arch of him being the underdog at DORA won't fly in May methinks.

Like be ******* for real, do you really think Croatia is capable of winning with someone called BABY LASAGNA? ijbol-worthy moment.

Eurovision fans and people who bet exist in an echo chamber and their opinion does not always match the GP's voting during the actual contest. It's so funny how every year they are gassing themselves hyping up their faves and genuinely believing they have it in the bag, only to end up 15th-26th in the final or not even qualify.

and by Eurovision fans, I refer to the fanbase on reddit. They're highly delusional and not the brightest over there, let's just say that. Kii

Oh this is a hard spill though, their meltdowns after Loreen's win were hilarious

It's never that serious

The meltdown ??? :dies: OBLH already existing is maybe a bigger sign that he's winning than being #1 at the odds

Did I lie? Carpe Diem was cute for a month but it aged like milk before May, let's be real. Those teenage girlies are only stanning because of their looks and not because of their music. This must be studied. Like when Björk stans ate up Utopia and Fossora just because they are stans and not because Utopia and Fossora are any good. You know what I mean?

But I don't blame them. I wouldn't mind a spitroast with Bojan and Kris uwu

This too. Half of the people there are contrarian and pedantic just for the same of being contrarian and pedantic and/or have developmental issues.

I get the impression Joker Out hate their stans too but otherwise who else is buying their tickets so they gotta play up to it :suburban:

I mean, the only recent leaders in odds at this time that finished outside of top 5 are Italy 2017 at #6 and Malta 2021 #7, out of which one didn't have a staging and the other spent half of their budget on inflating their odds so... Good luck booking that bottom 10 you speak of :suburban:

That’s the issue that I have. That performance was good for Dora, it’s not enough to win ESC. And it’s basically identical, with the exception of an extra guitar player and the audience being visible during the techno “viral” dance.

I’m not worried about Swedes coming through with great camera shots and pacing, but the lack of props and the horrible choreography are not it.

Ehh, I think going for a rock live performence vibe ala Maneskin/Blind Channel is a good choice. The doilies and ~rural aesthetic are enough to set it apart. The dancers can go tho, most people find them confusing

IDK how Europapa isn't the obvious winner to anyone + the betting odds at the moment - not what I'm stanning for but the song literally has all the elements of a Eurovision winner, and the Kaarija vibe that is way less obvious (and redundant) compared to Croatia. Baby Lasagna is cute but thinking he'll win seems so delusional to me :(
