shelven Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I love y'all but this fandom has reached a brand new level of coping if it's moving onto "here's why 450K globally on Spotify on its debut day isn't bad actually" Time to accept the era is a commercial catastrophe and just be excited for the music for music's sake. Only thing that can turn this around at this point is if that TikTok trend properly blows up or if the video is a huge attention-grabbing moment (and with the budget this era seems to have, I wouldn't count on that ) 6 1
stephen1108 Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I wasn't expecting physicals at release tbh. She was just in the studio like a week and a half ago with Tommy Brown and Tommy Parker

Bad would be what Chloe Bailey (and I like her) debuted at for 'Boy Bye'. If I saw those numbers then I would suggest she reevaluate her whole direction. Edited June 2 by Ms.cleo 1

Reginald Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Someone earlier in the thread said it best, "it's giving contractual obligation" from all involved parties. I hope she rebounds from this! 6

There yall go again, Some of yall can never defend or uplift Normani without bringing down another artist. I am a Normani fan. Just because someone doing worse it doesn't mean she doing good. There is always someone doing less. To act like Normani is just an indie artist that just drop a surprise single with no playlisting is disingenuous. She might not gotten traditional promotion but she got a lot of playlisting and a heavy push on both Spotify and AM music, especially considering her streams. She gotten more promo and push than most other R&B girls. She literally the face of R&B on Apple Music. You could barely find that wanna be remix on Spotify. For the amount of playlisting she received those numbers are not good. What makes it worse the song had a huge drops the next day. It is true the rollout is bad but the response is also underwhelming. To be honest it has more to do with previous singles than just the surprise release. Although I like 1:59 it is a horrendous lead single for a comeback, especially when us fans has been waiting for so along. There is still chances to turn this around, but so far it is not it. It is okay to provide constructive criticism to your faves. 2 1
Popboi. Posted June 3 Posted June 3 (edited) If there's no physical preorder soon there's no way the album will even make it to the top 100 girl where are they. Candy Paint would be doing so much better if she dropped it after Wild Side, shame. Edited June 3 by Popboi. 1
popularmoonlight Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I'm about to become the joke in my friend's group. After all these years of supporting her this is what she gives me back 7

Parallel Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I'm scared for the album. RCA is trash when it comes to first weeks. Tate and Doja had smashes leading up to their albums last year and there were no physicals until months later Even SOS didn't have physicals on release. I don't know a worse label for pop girls
cuteboyzay Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Idk wtf she's expecting not releasing any d*mn music videos. This recent trend in artists holding off music videos, which I feel is largelyyy due to Beyoncé is getting on my NERVES. Y'all are NOT BEYONCÉ!!! But even then, Beyoncé's lack of visuals for an era also greatly hindered what could've been maximized lmaooo! I'm so done like wtf! 2
