artist stats 13 first Brit Billion Awards winners will be announced today.

1B doesn't seems that big. There are way more than 13 artists could win it, i'm thinking to at least 50 artists if no more, so probably they will gave it in different phases to make the award feeling more special.

ABBA, Mariah Carey, AJ Tracey and Headie One are among the first to be recognised with the BRIT Billion award; joining RAYE, Rita Ora, Sam Smith, Lewis Capaldi, Ellie Goulding, Anne-Marie and George Ezra.

 

I'm not 100% sure about the nationality of all of them but i would say only Mariah and Abba.

they won't ...i mean what's the point to announce this award to adele and ed sheeran when you already gave it to anne marie and Raye .

 

At some point they will probably make a 5B award, 10B award etc...

I thought this was gonna be an award for songs with over 1B UK streams, which I believe is more impressive. 1B streams doesn't seem like a hard milestone to reach.

 

My faves easily have that much. Selena in the last update they did last year, with just her top 5 songs, racks up like 600m streams already. Taylor definitely too.

No, it's definitely not impossible. But to put it into context. Havana by Camila Cabello globally has 1.884 Billion Spotify streams & only 91M UK Spotify streams.

 

It would be more of an award for the individual songs with a total of 1 Billion UK streams to get the award.

 

Looking at Camila's UK Top 10 Spotify streams according to Kworb:
