Avril Lavigne outlasted Nelly Furtado. Why?

Everyone was  shook  with  Nelly  Furtado's  numbers  in  2012.  And  she  went  down  from  an  arena  touring  artist  to perform  in some bars with  500 seats. Anyway,  i  didn't  mean  to  shade  or anything but that's  what really happened.

OT:  Avril  had  3  massive  eras  and  brought  pop/rock into mainstream.  She did make  profound contribution for pop/punk  genre while Nelly  Furtado enjoyed one massive era but she did not  bring  anything new to music  scene.

Besides,  i  believe  that  when  we  talk  about early 2000s female acts, Avril  is only  behind few acts such as Bey, Shakira,  P!nk  and  Britney.  She's  definitely  among  the  top  10  most  successful  2000s female artists, (top 5  if we merely  compare artists who debut in  early  2000s).

I mean it's a little sad what happened with Nelly but she really never seemed to care. I'm just happy I have her first 3 albums which are amazing

Lavigne is still able to place her albums in the top ten of many countries all over the world and tour worldwide meanwhile Miss Kelly isn't a thing outside of English speaking countries for more than over a decade and seemingly can't even chart nowadays in her own home country. Talking about big name celebrity :rip:

Boo she sold 30k in rhe US and barely made the top 10 hahaha.

Kelly's album hasn't came out yet but her last one opened with 79k while Avirls opened with 29k

She has the #1 female talk show hahaha definitely more of a celebrity then the has been

The only thing Avril is known for in 2023 is jumping from engagement to engagement and dating a Jenner ex lmfaa

Spotify numbers in 2023 for 2023 releases are irrelevant now :dies: but let me guess, some radio-fueled peak on the Hot 100 is super relevant :clown:

Spotify numbers that can't even get an artist in the top 20 or even top 30 on Spotify aint nothing to brag about sis. Nor is trying to come for another artist when all 4 of your favs singles flopped hard. Two of those having feats. Even an mgk feature couldn't save her :dies: 💣

Its giving participation 🏆

plus Nelly was only bigger for 2 or 3 years in the mid 00’s anyway. Avril cares more about her actual career

Good for her having a talk show that absolutely no one watches outside of the US.
