A Dutch sperm donor with hundreds of children must immediately stop donating sperm, the court in The Hague ruled on Friday. Jonathan M. (41) says he has about 550 children. The summary proceedings were filed by Stichting Donorkind, a nonprofit organization that advocates for people whose biological parent was a donor, and a mother who has a child conceived with M.’s sperm.

Jonathan argued that he has a legal right to parent children and should be allowed to continue. Instead of it being considered strange, he said that his approach to parenting children should be viewed as “an entirely new concept.” He has also created an online platform where his biological children can voluntarily decide to get to connect with their siblings, or interact with their biological father.

Donorkind has also argued that the mass donation by one person was also psychologically damaging for mothers. Some of them said they were led to believe that the donor, Jonathan, did not donate his sperm frequently and now feel as though they have involuntarily taken part in “a strange social experiment.” X

Dutch guidelines stipulate that donors are only allowed to father a maximum of 25 children with 12 mothers, but the man had breezed past the limit with many more donations to clinics in the Netherlands and Denmark, as well as to others he met through online advertisements and forums.

“All these parents are now confronted with the fact that the children in their family are part of a huge kinship network, with hundreds of half-siblings, which they did not choose,” the court added. The man will now face a $110,000 fine every time he breaks his ban in the future. X

He should already be punished because he knew what he was doing when he went elsewhere to go 400 kids above the limit. And he was absolutely dishonest to the mothers, withholding important information...

I'm pretty sure wanting to spread your seed like this is a symptom of a mental illness. There should be mandatory psych evals before sperm is allowed to be donated :rip:

it's weird cuz a lot of his kids wont even know they are siblings and some of them will likely grow up in the same area...for all they know they can end up dating and ish too...I'm starting to think ppl should do DNA tests before marriage just to make sure you are unrelated AF

The amount of descendants that this man will have after just ONE generation, much less two. :rip:

Uhm, I get that it's weird... but isn't it the whole point of a sperm bank to have anonymous sperm donations/donors? I mean, if he's willing to give, why stop him? they're basically asking him to stop, but they willingly took all of those donations. Couldn't they have just not used them? or use someone else's?

People like this are typically sociopaths who know how to evade the law and would appear normal in a psych evaluation.  They’re unfortunately caught after it’s too late.  Thanks to sites like 23andme, it makes it much more difficult to pull off something this deranged in modern society.

Different sperm banks took it, they weren't communicating. Some smaller Nordics countries already have issues with small gene pools, having one man father 400 kids makes this worse. And spent banks aren't anonymous in terms of details regarding the donors, if I'm not mistaken, so he most likely hid this information which was obviously distressing when the mothers found out according to the accounts. And naturally since illegal they wouldn't even think to ask the question lol

Breeders are soooo weird, imagine willingly wanting to put kids through this f*cked up situation. Mayor psycho vibes and what’s worse is the kids or at least some of them will also turn out this crazy because of the mental illness that they inherent genetically :rip:

Nick Cannon has nothing on this guy. Just thinking about how much children those related people are gonna have in that tiny country :rip:
Basically everyone using those 2 services need to do dna test before getting into a relationship now. 550 may sound tiny to millions. But they are most likely in the same generation which makes it even worse.

they should fine him just for those 550 kids. And yeah, imagine marrying your half-sibling :skull:
