HDD: Seventeen 141k, Morgan 136k

We might be getting to the point where big-name releases can dethrone Morgan while he'll still be atop the charts on quieter weeks. Kind of like the end of SZA's run atop the BB200.

I'll buy Wallen's & Metallica's albums at Target before Thursday night. Both are artists I support. I would definitely prefer having a Country (or Rock) album #1 than some K-Pop crap.

Why bring up his disease like that? Would you say "have fun giving your coins to a lupus sufferer!" with a negative connotation? Or somebody with cancer? Victims of addiction deserve compassion and support. You're just adding to the stigma.

SEVENTEEN's SEA/TEA is 3k?  :deadbanana:

Seems like it might be time for someone else to start making some noise at the top of the chart, based on Morgan's latest numbers.

Let's go Taylor, time for SNTV to snatch that #1 for a month or so :celestial5:

I've been on ATRL since Apr '14. And I have been vocal about my preferences for Rock & Country music the entire time. Unless I see a song on an Active Rock/Country/Alternative/AAA Chart Im highly unlikely to even hear/listen to it. Rarely does Country &/or Rock music seriously challenge for #1 spots on all genre charts, meaning I can go months at a time without having heard any song in the H100 Top 10. So on those occasions when my formats is close to #1 of course I'll support those artists.

You choose to drink alcohol until you eventually become addicted to it. You don't choose to be affected by other diseases like cancer or lupus. That's a key difference in that debate.

Yeah, they really need to re-weigh these things. Streaming needs to count more. It's a joke that an album with ~3k SPS is anywhere close to competing with an album that has 133k SPS. OTaaT is clearly the biggest and most popular album of the week. Fans massbuying the Seventeen album doesn't change that.

Streaming counts forever. Sales count exactly once. Obviously they have to count much more in a single week.

Adjusting streams up would give US diamond albums left and right very quickly

It’s not even about Morgan Wallen. That person’s made it clear what they think of people they perceive to be lesser than themselves. It’s disheartening, but no surprise coming from them.

Yes, stanning gone too far as if Morgan's album is going to be less successful if it lands at #2 instead of 1 again.

I think the swifties are probably concerned about him breaking some record that only they know about which is why they go so hard in these weekly threads about it.

Glad it's close, though

Yeah, I’d be willing to bet that if the shoe was on the other foot and Morgan was the one with 3k SEA/TEA with a chance to block their fave, they’d be screaming for the rules to be changed.

No album with 3k SEA/TEA should be anywhere near a #1. It isn’t 2011 anymore.

LET'S GO 17!

You neither know me nor anything about me. I have been on ATRL for now over 9 years and have always supported Rock & Country music. The fact I would rather have a Country &/or Rock album #1 over KPop has nothing to do with races &/or racism. The fact so many people on here are so blinded into thinking this about those on here who prefer not to have KPop #1 on the BB200 is beyond absurd & reflects very poorly on them, not me & others who like & support Rock & Country music. Believe me there are many actions & behaviors from artists some of yall "Stan for" that thoroughly offend me. But because I'm an adult who doesn't believe in censorship I don't & won't judge those supporting artists exhibiting what I & many others out there find offensive.

No, Wallen shouldn't have used the n-word. I do agree with this. In fact the only thing I find more offensive than the n-word is G-- D---. The slur used to describe gay men almost equally offends me. If you actually knew me you would know this & it plays a part in why I won't listen to rap. But judging him, everything about him & those who like his music on what he, admittedly, shouldn't have said in his drunken stoupor clearly exhibits an absence of cognitive skills needed to survive the real world. Grow the hell up, because, like it or not, very little of society revolves around the hopeless & immature wokeism & counter culture vividly espoused by way too many ATRLers. Believe me as someone who is old enough to be a dad to most people on ATRL I speak from experience.

I know…. People still listen to country music in 2023? Not even being shady but I didn’t even know it was still a thing
