Raw Honey Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Looking at her other album covers lined up with this... unreal

Tillz Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Lipstick Lover is very mediocre, and I actually did like Float, not her best, but still cute. I'm gonna wait for the whole thing, but my hype is gone :(
pavi Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Love how people call this a sellout album, while Float hasn't even reached five million streams. If this is her sellout era, it isn't working Float is cute, new song has to grow on me, but I agree it's not the music I hope to get from her

I mean, Ed and Cardi both flopped, Atlantic had to take Charli and Janelle off the shelves and put them to mf work Come thru sell-out era! When? I know we are not comparing a single to WHOLE eras that flopped.
CottageHore Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 I’m all for artists having some fun and making music that’s not super serious but like… Janelle doing music with frivolous meaning and stupid hooks like this just seems forced. It’s not why I got into her that’s for sure but hey
kyliefever2002 Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 was anyone able to find the uncensored cover in hq

Puttanesca Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Yeah this is gonna be my least fave album of hers lol.
JoeAg Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 okay just got home so i'm listening to Lipstick Lover not bad!! however... why is this album reportedly 32 minutes??? that's so short
liquiddiamonds Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 Janelle is usually a very cerebral and conceptual artist. This is different. It makes me think she tried to challenge herself to just chill and create something in a different headspace or that maybe it's a case of jamming the writers block away lol I will still check the record out. It might work as a whole listen

ThaInfo1 Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 I guess I’ll be the only enjoying both artsy and generic Janelle. I like Lipstick Lover. It’s a jammy jam. she deserves to let her hair down and make some avg music. I liked dirty computer but I thought it had its corny moments. Float does too, but this might be her least corniest, basic bop attempt since “I Like It”. im over these short length albums though. That’s not making much sense to me and I can’t defend her there. Lol
campelo Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 even pynk and screwed had more summer vibes than this mess here
Doogle Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 Dirty Computer as a whole was a summer vibe without actually needing to be. This is just a bit too on the nose and boring. And I usually am fine with generic n
KatyPrismSpirit Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 not the op still saying 6/30 and no cover or tracklist in the first post,,,, @Supervillain
OrgVisual Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 Why Lipstick Lover sounds like an Alicia Keys song?

It might work as a whole listen This is how I feel. My hypothesis is that this album is helping to allow Janelle to explore more and more of her personality now that she's explored more of her sexuality and gender identity. Like she's only recently came out as non-binary and has only recently identified as pan iirc. Basically, I think The Age of Pleasure is meant to explore more of who she is and what she likes now that she's been free to explore her sexuality and gender identity more over the past few years. 9 hours ago, ThaInfo1 said: I guess I’ll be the only enjoying both artsy and generic Janelle.
