Sabandija Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 (edited) This album seems like a joke. Edited May 11, 2023 by Sabandija
wraith Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Maybe I am forcing myself to stan but Lipstick Lover is starting to hit after repeat listens
atrlxcx Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 so bad compared to the excellence that was Dirty Computer
HausofNick Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 hate the album cover and those track lengths are an actual joke lmao
stevenisFADING Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 the cover is kind of ugly. the tracklisting is not it. where is the woman that created the archandroid?!
Dragonfly Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 If she´s going for sexy, she did it waaaaay better with Take a Byte and Pynk How´d we go from the excellency that is Float to this?
Stacy Jensen Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 I wonder if that vinyl cover is a slipcase. I like the swimming cover better, personally.
Trip Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 it is not even out yet...can we give it a listen first before we complain smh
Raw Honey Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 The length after how long she took since DC is very strange
BlackJesus Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 6 minutes ago, Raw Honey said: The length after how long she took since DC is very strange what the ****, I just saw the lengths. They're looking like demo worktape lengths. 2 songs over 3 minutes, 6 songs in the 2-3 minute range, and 6 songs less than 2 minutes. this is not it.
Sabandija Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Maybe this is just a little side project? I don't know, I guess I'm just trying to make sense out of this. 30 minutes feels like half an album.
Rotunda Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 …Lipstick Lover is not it I don’t mind the era aesthetic though

ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted May 11, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted May 11, 2023 I just don’t get why she’s going down this route. I’ll support regardless. I do like the aesthetic of the era but idk. Musically it’s not it.
KatyPrismSpirit Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 ugh ive been playing dirty computer non stop after i heard lipstick lover. such a monumental and overlooked masterpiece. the way 'dont judge me' is her best song of all time
4Walls Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 WHAT IS GOING ON OMGGGGGGGGGGGG this is crazy like I'm laughing from disbelief the cover, the track-lengths, the bad songs...........I'm blaming Hollywood I will be seeing her if she goes on tour tho

I always felt it blended her unique sound and style with contemporary pop music so well Whereas the sound this era just doesn't sound distinctively Janelle so far.
Raw Honey Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Lipstick Lover... the sellout realness Everything is just so watered down from what she usually delivers, how do you go from ArchAndroid and Electric Lady's aesthetics to Pininterest beach vibes. I don't get what she's trying to do... and no I'm not gonna wait to listen before critiquing when I've seen the length and heard the singles.
